UFC 125 Picks:
Frank Edgar +135, 1u
Clay Guida -149, 1.49u
Dong Hyun Kim -116, 1.16u
Brandon Vera +125, 1u
Frank Edgar vs. Gray Maynard: Frankie Edgar is an excellent and underrated fighter. He beat B.J. Penn twice, and BJ Penn dominated the lightweight division for a long time. His striking has improved a lot from the last time that he fought Maynard and I think he will find a way to win here. He will manage to avoid the takedowns and outstrike Maynard. Edgar's cardio is fantastic while Maynard has never fought 5 rounds before. This will be a huge factor in Edgar's favour in the later rounds as he gains a decision victory and beats the only man who ever beat him.
Clay Guida vs. Takanori Gomi: Gomi is a good striker but a lousy ground fighter. He was helpless when Kenny Florian got on top of him. Guida is an excellent wrestler. He will take Gomi down and show how over-rated Gomi really is. Pride is dead! The UFC fighters are way better than the old Pride fighters.
Dong Hyun Kim vs. Nathan Diaz: Nathan Diaz can't handle wrestlers. He proved that against Big Daddy Stevenson. Dong Hyun Kim is a good wrestler. Enough said.
Brandon Vera vs. Thiago Silva: Vera is an excellent striker, much better than Silva. He has good enough wrestling to avoid Silva taking him down, as he proved against Couture. Vera will pick Silva apart in a kick-boxing contest and show what an under-rated fighter he really is.
