Man I had a little on Menifield so I was a little surprised at the majority draw. Of course if you factor in that the ref took away a point from him for grabbing the fence it makes sense that it ended in a draw because I actually thought you could make a good case for either guy winning that fight because it was so close.

i thought i was gonna get fuked but i had it a draw and it was. anik said the last round was at least a 10-8. what the fuk was he watching. i saw a guy get taken down and the other guy just keeping him down doing basically nothing. If there was a ten eight in this fight it would have been round one where Crute was saved by the bell. Whoever had 29-27 should be thrown out of judging. this card in my opinion really sucked. If it wasnt for the last two fights i wouldn't even be watching it. I love Vok but man this is to much size to give up in my opinion. Way to much but Volk is Volk. Alex could be bigger and taller and whatever. Size doesn't even matter in this one. It's no grappling vs 20+ years of elite Sambo. And Volks' TD defence was against guys who can't grapple.

Ortega almost submitted Alex, how the fukk can anyone be comfortably saying that Islam can't keep Alex on the ground. Volk may win on the feet but thinking he has 0.1% chance of survival on the ground is the definition of being a "casual".

Volk got tested against Mendes when Chads for once, mixed in wrestling for a change in their bout. Mendes was no clown on the ground but man that was years ago and Alex hasn't had to use his wrestling since. i think round four was the big problem. They gave it to the Islam, who had that crushing unbelievable body triangle while catching three hundred fist to the face just holding on. In reality i gave Islam the first two and Volk the last three. i would have given Islam round four if he just did something with the body triangle but he did absolutely nothing. After this sets in for awhile and Volk gets to watch it again, he is going to be furious.

I'd have to go back and watch the fight again because I had Makhachev to win the fight as the last leg of my 4 fight parlay that hit and as such I was a little biased towards him winning the fight. I actually thought he won rounds 1,3 and 4 and took the fight 48-47 but that fight was close and could've went either way. If I watch it again without any biases or leans to the side I bet than maybe I'd score it for Volk but that's how I saw the fight and the judges must've seen it that way too.

Re-watched it. Still have it 48-47 for Makhachev. However this will teach him a lesson about his cockiness. No way did I see this fight going the way it did. Islam underestimated Volks ground game big time. And so did I actually but then again I'm not in the octagon. Islam thought he would run through Volk and when it didn't happen he got a bit confused. Also, Volks' cardio God damnit, the guy has a tank for 15 rounds. Huge respect for Volk, guy is a machine.
