I disagree. Plenty of reasons to back Cormier here. Better wrestler, better cardio, better in the clinch, faster hands.

stipe took cormier down, ya DC got right back up but the wrestling in this fight wont be a factor imo
itll probably stay standing up again... Stipe has the reach and athleticism while DC has the better chin and maybe a slight speed advantage , imo Stipe puts his punches together better though and is more accurate .... either guy could win no doubt its HW and both hit hard/ are elite fighters.... but for the odds Stipe is the better bet for me factoring DCs age and injuries recently

That's fair. Stipe hits hard and could definitely pull this out. Very high level fight.

ya anybody who says 100% who will win is lying... its HW and both hard hitters
tbh i actually dont like Stipes attitude at all and i dont really want him to win but i like the + odds for such a close fight that i think Stipe has a slight edge

definitely want DC Jones 3 at HW though

DC says I don't know how I can beat Stipe any better this time.

Bro you caught him the clinch not like you were putting on a clinic for 5 rounds. Guy knows he should not be the fav. Revenge angle rematch, Stipe hungrier.

    Event Background

UFC 241: Cormier vs. Miocic 2 is an upcoming mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship that is planned to take place on August 17, 2019 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, United States.[1][2][3][4][5]

A UFC Heavyweight Championship rematch between current champion Daniel Cormier and former champion Stipe Miocic is expected to serve as the event's headliner.[6]

A middleweight bout between former UFC Middleweight Championship challenger (as well as 2000 Olympic silver medalist and former world champion in freestyle wrestling) Yoel Romero and Paulo Costa has been scheduled for the event.[7] The pairing was previously scheduled to take place at UFC 230, at UFC Fight Night: Cejudo vs. Dillashaw and again at UFC Fight Night: Jacaré vs. Hermansson but was scrapped each time for various reasons.[7]

A lightweight bout was scheduled between John Makdessi and Devonte Smith for the event. However, it was reported on 30 July 2019 that Makdessi was forced to withdraw for undisclosed reasons.[8] Smith will now face returning veteran Clay Collard.[9]

A flyweight bout was scheduled between Maryna Moroz and Poliana Botelho for the event. However, it was reported on August 1, 2019 that Moroz was forced to pull from the event, citing injury.[10] Early August Botelho announced via social media that was no longer participating in the event.[11]

I often need to qualify things by saying I'm still a relative UFC rookie, so..

How does Costa rank amongst Romero's tests? I've seen/heard a lot of people picking Costa.

lots of people picking costa is because he is younger and has so much power in his striking, he is like smaller version of ngannou. imo the odds shouldve been the opposite.

DC and Pettis all day long here.

Stipe same thing is gonna happen like in the first fight.. Only one that can beat DC is Jon Jones. DC is tough as nails, all most impossible to KO.. Stipe isn't gonna drop DC.. Stipe will wear down trying and get slept again..

Nate Diaz has been out to long, punches like a bitch.. Pettis beats him up both standing and on the ground.

Your behavior has been a bit concerning of late, hope you're ok over there.

Might be time to fade the Soldier of GOD.. 42 years old now is Romero.. Never had a gas tank before, cheated when gassed..

Liking the younger 28 year old undefeated fighter in Costa in this one at +odds.. Maybe not by KO though, Romero might still be hard to finish..

IMO there is serious skill differential in Bermudez VS Kennedy..Berm is WAY more skilled --All Around..I never toss the L word around but I like it....and I love the line....Sanghagen should also piece up Assuncao...

One that people might want to look closer at.....Kang Vs Davis....Kang WAY better....but Davis carrier a penetrate ton of weight and usually shows up HUGE....could be a problem...

That logic is strong, but the problem is that Costa has zero impressive wins on his record. It's nothing but bums (though he did finish each and every one of those bums). So what has Costa actually proven?

Meanwhile, Romero lost by split decision to the champ in his last fight. Very impressive. He's proven; Costa's not.

Dude is undefeated and probably in his prime at 28 years of age (if he's been trained up). Fighting an old man now with a PROVEN limited gas tank..

Costa has fought a few names in his last 4 UFC fights. He's represented strong since joining the UFC. Knocked them all out too.

I'll take the younger undefeated fighter in this one at plus odds. Like I said he might not win this one by KO because Romero is hard to finish.. Romero will cheat on the chair in between rounds to get his gas back when he feels he is getting punked just to survive. Maybe throw a ball shot or eye poke also..
