I just broke my toe right now on my right foot.. No lie, with a monster stub hit against the corner of my coffee table. I wasn't paying attention and hit the edge of the table flush with my little toe..Snap... Second toe in from the left side of my right foot is now crooked pointing.. Funny thing is that it doesn't hurt that bad just a dull throb. I've had other stub hits in the past that hurt far worse.. .. I'm trying to put back in place and it won't fully go back into place.. I think I'm not gonna have a crooked little toe now for life... Lol.. It is throbbing like a bitch especially when I walk.. I hit it hard...

What ever it's only a tiny toe... I just hope I can still run and walk with a shoe on.. I'm sure I will...

I've been trying to look up information about Quinones' ground game and can't find much. I read the play by play of his fight against Girtz and it looks like Girtz was able to mount him in Round 1 and Round 3 of their fight, with Quinones able to survive but unable to escape from mount.

Sage is no Gordon or Girtz, but things went south for Quinones pretty quickly once Gordon followed his corner advice and pressured Quinones and went ham on him. Sage might have a big advantage if he decides to forgo the kickboxing match.

Quinones is a tae kwon do / karate / boxing / muay thai specialist.

He doesn't have much wrestling/grappling as far as I can tell.

I hesitate to pay -300 at all, let alone in a girl fight. However, Suarez might be worth it here. From what I can tell Periera hasn't fought a relentless wrestler and Suarez isn't just that, she also has good strength and power in her wrestling. I feel like this will be a learning experience for Pereira as Suarez gives her the initiation to relentless wrestling.

I'm in pain over here, if I walk on it at all now I feel sharp pains like knife in your toe.. Can't walk on this thing right now.. Reading up on it, I won't be able to wear a shoe for 10 days. Gotta stay off it for a week and until the sharp pains go away... 4-6 weeks to fully heal.. I'm ruined.. I'm about to get out of shape and I don't like it.. I may try to bike ride though...

    This is my exact break..

Ok Paper back to the event, enough talk about missing hand and arms and my broken toe. We jacked this thread.

    BACK TO THE EVENT...

Lot of people on Quinones with the dog money but not quite enough for me at +150. He's essentially a kickboxer without a ground game. Sage's issues on the ground have come against bigger fighters like Gall but his striking is WILDLY overrated. Sage's biggest strength is his size and athletic ability and he MAY be able to use that here. Sage looked good with his striking in R2 against Gall after the grappling in R1 but it was Mickey Gall who hadn't faced ANYONE with any sort of striking in his career and Sage ended up knocked down and choked out soon after. I'd make this fight with Sage as a slight fave but at 155, I think Quinones will display much better heart and cardio and have a decent shot at winning a decision. That price is +525 right now (up from +425 at the opener). Quinones has a lot of finishes but that was against weaker competition.

Spent the last few days listening to pods from BETMMA.tips on how others watch fights and choose plays and think I've learned a ton. Have a checklist now I'm going across for different fights like heart, IQ, KD rate, etc. I'm also forcing myself to watch as much tape as possible on the guys now (rarely did this before). At least last 2 fights of each guy and their biggest win/worst loss if they weren't included in the last 2 fights.

Keep in mind I'm not recommending you to buy the picks but the blog and stats are great features. I stumbled upon it because I play the game (MMATycoon) that the site creator created before he came up with BETMMA.tips. The game is really cool as well if you haven't checked it out.

It seems like their trying to bring in a guy who only strikes to maximize Northcutt's probability of winning.

I think she has high upside because of her wrestling but he is still pretty inexperienced with an unproven striking game. If she can't get TDs, I think VP can beat her on the feet.

I agree. Weird enough, look at who Sage has fought in the UFC. This IS a good matchup for him but the issue is his striking just isn't that good. Since the Bam fight, Sage learned he isn't a grappler. Trevino fell on a banana peel and Sage took advantage in his debut and then after he outwrestled Pfister who was laughably outmatched strength wise (after being controlled for half the first round) he thought he could overpower guys with his wrestling but the issue is he doesn't have the technique to do so or the cardio to bull his way through wrestling for 3 rounds. The guy gave up 4/10 takedowns to Enrique Marin at UFC 200. Marin lost a decision to ERICK MONTANO the fight before. There is no doubt that Sage is AT BEST at the very bottom of the UFC talent pool. More than likely, he shouldn't be in the UFC at all.

Last fight I watched tape on/capped for the night was Fortuna/Collier. Have to admit I capped this fight at -400 or so. I have Collier rated as a guy who shouldn't really be in the UFC at LHW. He fought Devin Clark in his LHW debut and was swept on the scorecards mostly due to being outwrestled. He doesn't have to worry about that here but Collier throws a TON of spinning attacks and relies a lot on his chin to survive. Fortuna has some legit power and while he's still a little raw on the feet, he listens really well and slips punches pretty well for a guy giving up 3 sig strikes per minute so far in his career because opponents are only landing around 30% on him. On the flip side, Collier is being clipped at over 70% for his UFC career. I think Collier's toughness may lead to a Fortuna KD and SUB but unless something flashy lands flush, I can't see Collier really threatening Fortuna. At -240, I think this will be going in my parlays.

I actually think McGee decision is one of the most likely outcomes. I have not seen him controlled in the clinch game. Against Steele he consistently reversed position and put Steele's back to the cage again and again. I don't 100% know if he can do that to Strickland for a whole fight but I trust that he will never stop trying if he needs to. On the feet, I don't have much worry that Strickland will stop McGee. Only Ponzi has ever done it and he has much more pop than Strickland.

VP is a tank but I just don't see her stuffing every shot again and again. Also, it's been around 15months since we've seen Suarez, I think? Has she been injured? If not, at 26 with that amount of time training since TUF I would expect her to be by far the best version we've seen.

I couldn't even watch that Marin fight. What a damn comedy of errors. Cornering Northcutt must be infuriating.

Agree. Collier is a tough guy but real good skill in any one area will beat him. Fortuna has developed some fast hands and good counters lately, but just couldn't quite get busy enough vs Johnson. I think Collier's style will help Fortuna a lot by bringing the fight to him in a way that he can get his game going.

Does anyone think Lauzon can win a decision here? His cardio after round 1 is seriously questionable and he hasn't won a legit decision since 2013.

Does anyone think Guida can stop Lauzon? He had around 4 minutes of mount time vs. Koch and couldn't get the stoppage and hasn't won a fight inside the distance since 2011.

This one seems obvious... which makes me nervous.
