You have to. May not be the best, as he would like his record to make you think.

    But definitely top ten.

Dont forget he started at featherweight, 126 lbs. He was murderous there all through 135. He moved up for more money, he never walked around much higher than fighting weight, nobody does that, he's naturally a small guy. Its hindsight now but I dont think Cotto nor Pac would have beaten him at 140. So 28 lbs later he's fighting at 154 and beating guy who walk around at 180.

Might be the most skilled 130-135 fighter of all time. Can't really compare fighters through generations the older fighters were much tougher and fought alot more. He is not one of my favorites but you have to give credit were credit is due.

He is the most technically sound fighter on the face of the earth in the history of boxing. His hand speed, footwork, counter punching, shoulder roll, defense, fighting on the ropes is something the entire sport has never seen. He's fought 50 fights and I don't think has taken more then a dozen tough shots in all those fights. That is unheard of. He's only stumbled a few times and stunned like with only 3 shots. People hate him because he's never been beat up. He's never had his face pummeled and he has a face that you just want to pummel.

He has confused some of the best fighters that have ever fought. He's never been entertaining because he's not going to knock anyone out and no one can hit him. But if you are a boxing purist, he's #1 in terms of pure boxing skills. Hitting without getting hit.

I guess I'm the oddball here. Last night was the first time I ever watched a Mayweather fight. I'm not a boxing fan.

He is extremely systematic and looks like he's always under control. Guy never goes away from the game plan. One amazing boxer.

Not true. He fought everyone but was smart enough to stall and BS until guys like De La Hoya, Maidana, Cotto and pacman were well past their primes.

Floyd easy top 10 probably top 5

dont forget the first Castillo fight that should've been floyds only loss. The 50-0 is a BS number

you just admitted that he avoided fighting good fighters and waited until they lost a step

means he doesnt even believe he is the best, or even one of the best

why should the rest of the world

^its smart business. Thats why I'd say bottom of top 5. 4th or 5th. There is no denying he is the best technical boxer the sport has ever seen so how could you rate him lower?

Its smart business. Dont get wrong Id love to have seen him fight Cotto and Pac at 140 as a boxing fan, but since the controllers have made life about having money to survive and since boxing isnt a video game and health is involved, it was smart to wait and fight those guys later on. More money was to be made fighting later and they werent as big a threat as at 140 during the time. Sugar Ray Leonard did the same thing with Hagler but people seem to give him a pass on that. Leonard had a gathering where many attended and many thought he'd announce to fight Hagler(his LeBron moment), but all those people showed up only to hear Leonard say the fight will never happen, all strategy by Leonard. Then like 3-4 years later he hears Hagler is done with boxing and about to retire then Leonard says he wants the fight after Marvin's hunger has died down some along with not looking as good in his previous fight.

Skip to 8:24 Ray was already a little punchy by then.

    I don't think he is.

You have the obvious consensus top say 7.

Then you have a lot of great fighters vieing for the 8,9 and 10 spot. You going to knock say a Sugar Ray Leonard? Roberto Duran or one of the great heavys like Smoking Joe?

Well managed career and great fighter but top 10 all time? I have my doubts.

With Mayweather retired. Who's the best boxer in the world right now? I wonder who's going to be the next Tyson and Mayweather.

its all relative, if he is playing ageing, slow, lesser opponents maybe thats why he seems so fast and technical

if i run against an older guy I would seem like youssein bolt

lebron james seems like the best basketball player ever cause he plays in the east where he is playing alone

I've heard people say he's not top 10 but he didn't get to 50-0 by a fluke. The man is arguably the best defensive boxer of all time imo and clearly in the top 10. I am not a Mayweather fan by any stretch of the imagination but I struggle to name 10 better boxers than him.

I think I could name 10 heavy weights just from the Ali era. Btw, Ali was a much better defensive boxer than Floyd.

Don't like the guy, but you're smoking crack if you think he isn't top 10. Or just hate the guy. I wish the heavyweight division was like it once was, but still, he's top 10 even with all those greats.

Funny guy, how was Ali's defense better he became punch drunk and developed Parkinson's more than likely from getting hit in the head. Name those 10 heavyweights that are better than Floyd from Ali era.

Only because Floyd's fighting style is too boring for him to be in the top 10.

If you saying he not top 10 most exciting I don't think any of us would argue that!! Lol.

Bottom line tho all those all time great exciting fighters over the years would have all looked bad vs Floyd.

The same Roberto Duran who quit during a fight? Floyd would have made Duran look like an amateur. Joe Frazier was a great fighter but top 10 of all time....you must be smoking rocks.
