David Oancea, known in betting circles as “Vegas Dave” and his trademark phrase, “Rotate, Son” may be facing up to 90 years in prison, thanks to an accusation by the IRS that he was attempting to defraud the government of at least half a million in taxes.The IRS and prosecutors claim, that he placed at least nine bets in 2015 and 2016 at the Wynn and Westgate using social security numbers that were not his, to get around the Banking Secrecy Act laws that require reporting of transactions over $10k.

He’s now returned to Las Vegas, after some rumors that he was going to skip town, and claims that “At the end of the day the truth will always come out. Can’t wait till next week when the world hears what I have to say.”

In another statement on Twitter he seemed to imply that the federal prosecution was “when you are at the top of your industry 90 percent of the people want to bring you down. Some call them haters I call them fans.” He then posted a video of him taking a saran wrapped packet of cash from the trunk of his car.

Oancea claims he is no longer betting, but is providing packages and consulting for other betters.

I don't feel sorry for the guy, putting himself over on social and mainstream media as often as possible. he wanted attention and now he got it but to put him in court and sentence to prison time only cost taxpayers money. try to settle the debt out of court(with penalties) and move on.

Everyone hates paying taxes including me, but when you think about it, we enjoy everything in society that the tax money pays for..

Things like street lights, street cleaning, road maintenance, public schools, police and law enforcement protection, public parks and maintenance, city maintenance, public schooling, jails and keeping the bad guys locked away, etc.. etc. and so so many other things..

If no one paid taxes we'd be living in dark times..

I'd be curious to know how much money Vegas Dave made from casinos/books, what his real net worth is & whether casino owners used their political influence to lynch Vegas Dave in retaliation for winning tons of money off them.

It is possible Vegas Dave was wiretapped without a warrant, which would have been illegal before the patriot act was passed.

Of all the things you mentioned, NONE of those things are primarily paid for by Federal income taxes. We did quite well in America for almost 150 years without the invasive Federal income tax, we turned a large patch of wilderness into a thriving young country, all without a red cent in Federal income tax. Hardly "dark" times. Countries and their people prosper and live freely without the Jewish usury and serfdom of income tax. Do you understand that the only reason we have a Federal income tax is to pay interest on borrowing money from a foreign bank?

A person would have to be sucker, a pansy, or a communist to actually want to live in a country where you have to declare and notify a government agency every time you make a transaction of a lousy 10k or more. Not only should there be no Federal income tax, there should be no such thing as a social security number. When that act (Social Security) was passed, nobody liked the idea of a surveillance number that the government could track you with. Of course, the bill sponsors said 'Oh, not to worry, this is only for issuing social security checks and nothing more, we would never use it for any other reason". Kind of like when the Federal income tax was being debated, they said "this will only be a 3% tax on the very, very wealthy, and nobody else". Don't EVER willingly let these lying, scheming, vultures get one foot in the door of your liberty.

You seem too far gone for saving, but hopefully, a smarter generation of people with open minds and access to more information then controlled education and media will understand what a scam the whole thing is.

You said we enjoy everything that tax money pays for. Really? You enjoy the death of children from bombing campaigns, and interest payments on borrowed fiat currency, and slush funds for overpaid government agents who don't do a f'ing thing while your money decreases in value every year because of monetary expansion? You enjoy those things? Cause that's where most of Federal income tax goes kid.

Our past leaders failed us miserably and we are now paying the price for that today.. America should be operating at a surplus today if it were managed properly thru the years.

Still we as citizens have to pay taxes to keep it going today.. We have no choice and it's our debt to society.. We can only vote in the people that can hopefully right the ship in the future, if we don't the rabbit hole goes deeper....

Actually, that's incorrect. First off, when you say keep IT going, what does that even mean? States and counties and villages/towns/cities taxes are what keeps the essential services running, not Federal income taxes (some states/villages have become dependent on Federal handouts, but that's a different discussion). We could abolish the 16th amendment and the only ones who are going to "suffer" are the parasites at the international banks who prop up the Federal Reserve,the financial predators who would have to risk real money for a change, and the industries (various contractors including defense, ethanol, "green" energy, etc) who have been living off the regional kick back schemes for too long.

I'm not looking for a dragged out argument on the philosophical merits of Federal income taxes, let's just wrap it up by saying we agree to disagree. The person (Vegas Dave) who was the topic of this thread is a blowhard, a fraud, and an attention whore, so I have no real sympathy for him on a personal level. But the fact that Federal goons can still implement this 10k notification rule is obnoxious, especially with all the innocent business owners and free citizens who have had their life savings seized with no charges due to "structuring" provisions in these unconstitutional banking regs., and it pisses me off.
