After two nice showings the last 2 days, we are now at +$29,723.27 on the year, just hitting the midway mark of the 3rd month and we are 1 unit away from doubling our bankrolls, and $100 per unit bettor is at $9,907.75, and is 1 unit from becoming a $200 per unit bettor, and $50 per unit bettor is at $4,953.87, and is $50 dollars from becoming a $100 per unit bettor, we're making progress men, just stay patient, you'll be betting the same sized unit amount as me in no time....stay within your unit size, and the money will come.

    I
f i keep going at this pace, you'll all be betting $300 per unit by August-September....Great cards for betting coming up, don't fuk up your money management and go broke, we gonna chip away at the books.

    Hi Josh,
I'm new to this SBR forum, I have been following your picks and it seems you are the go to guy
on MMA.........I have been betting on Football/Basketball for who knows how long and would like to get
my feet wet in MMA, I really enjoy the fight game and have been a fan from the beginning with the likes of Royce Gracie, Ken Shamrock, Don Frye and Tank Abbott and I realize the game has changed and I'm out of touch with the new breed of fighters and their styles. So as a newbie to this new MMA I really appreciate
people like you that are willing to share in your knowledge. Can novice in betting on MMA start with a modest bankroll say around 300 bucks make a dent?

@BigMacster i know you're asking josh, but i can help out a bit as someone who has lost his shit several times and has started off in the same position as what you're asking. you can definitely start off with 300 dollars, but i would say its more important to have bank roll management and discipline. you can start off with any amount and make something of if but it you don't learn to manage it, its only a matter of time before it goes out the window. one of those things thats easier said than done, atleast for me. i started with 200 made it into something had a bad day and lost it overnight, just to proof my point. thats my 2 cents, hope it helped and best of luck.

Ok let's break down the numbers for what they really are.. I calculate you won $1024 risking $1610... That equates to - 160 odds and in simple terms that's a $160 bet to win $100..

Can't argue with a profit though... Good job Josh...

Thanks for the advice GoodSun, I have been doing Football/Basketball wagering for sometime and the same is true on those 2 sports.....Discipline is the key to success and I have been fairly successful but have been hit by the "greedy virus" of not knowing when to call it a day. In a team sport you have X number of reasons for things not to go according to plan Football has 11 players on offense and defense on the field and Basketball has 5 aside, these shear numbers of participants makes it very hard to predict an outcome of a game on a consistent level. this is my reason for looking at the MMA as a vehicle to make some cash. With 2 participants it would be easier to analyze than a team sport......not easy but in my opinion easier. With that said I am open to any suggestions on how to bet(straight-up/prop bets/parleys)?
Some of my best winnings in team sports are the teaser/parley wager.

@BigMacster i assumed you were new to sportsbetting by the question you asked. as on how to bet, im not the person to ask. im sure other users here can point you in the right direction.

I must say that from my experience mma probably requires the most discipline/self control when it comes to betting sports. 2 guys hitting each other with everything but the kitchen sink and its over in minutes. entertaining sport to watch even better to bet if you have an eye for it.

can't really help you with much more than what i've said. bol

Ideally you want to start with $1000 roll, and bet $10 per unit, till you get to $2500. I can't guarantee you won't go broke at $300, you'll need to not get unlucky at the beginning, and Stay patient, I'd still go with 10 dollars per unit, but your only gonna be able to bet my most confident picks till you get your bankroll around a thousand. You can turn that in to a ton of money, if 1st you don't get unlucky early and 2 if your willing to grind a small profit every event, and not get impatient in the process and decide you want to double up on one play. Stick to 10 dollars per unit, and just bet my most confident picks till you get to $1000, then u can start adding props, then once you get to 2500, you can up your units to 25 dollars per unit..it's gonna take a while..they have some great events for betting coming up, so now is a good time to get started.

This is incorrect. Because if every play hits then i win more than 1024, so the odds on the whole event would be more like -130..people that just hunt for dog odds are amatuer, and will go broke, every fight is handicapped idividuslly and the value is based on what the number should be compared to what it is. For example if I bet a favorite at -200 but I believe the odds should be -400, while I bet a underdog at +200 that should be at even money, both are equal in value, but the favorite at -200 is more valuable then the plus 200 dog, because I give the dog a 5050 chance of winning, but the favorite I give a much higher percentage chance of winning at my odds of-400.. so while both present me with 200 pts of equal value the -200 favorite is far more valuable because he doesn't have the 45 to 50 percent chance of losing.

    Thanks Josh,
I appreciate you getting back to me, If I was to bet your 2 "10 unit plays" (Hunt -175 and Magny +110) I would be investing $200 dollars, what would you suggest for the remaining $100? Should I keep it in the till for next time or distribute in some props?

No problem man, With the other 100, bet 40 on case, 10 on case inside the distance, 40 on jouban/Seohee rawlings over 2.5 rounds parlay and 10 on Seohee ham to win by dec.
