Boxing - Roy Jones Jr vs Prince Badi Ajamu - 07/29/2006

Im a Roy Jones Jr. fan, but I think he should stay retired. Unless he can get back to where he was, and go claim wins over Tarver and the current contenders in the division. Which, with his age, I dont think he can do.

    Here are the fighters records:

Roy Jones Jr. (49-4, 38 KOs)
Prince Badi Ajamu (25-2-1, 14 KOs)

Anyone going to be betting on this event? If so, who will you be taking?

I see one of the sponsors for this fight and PPV is sportsbook.com, I wonder how much more of this the online books can do with the online gambling being a issue in the USA.

well, at least he won this one.

i don't think he's anywhere near where he would need to be though, to beat Tarver.

but, i do think he 'could' beat Tarver, if he would just cut out all the silly shiat he occupies his time with, and actually devoted himself to boxing again.

seeing tarver lose to hopkins had to eat him up.

Yes it was. A pretty shietty one on the production side of things. You can tell it was a low budget type PPV. CSI Sports, I think was the company.

yeah, this was a really crappy fight. and what was up with the ref not letting them work out of the clinch? there was probably a record number of "breaks". as soon as they go within 2 inches of each other the old geezer would jump in a stop them. a real disadvantage to ajamu.

roy needs to retire. if he couldn't destroy ajamu, he'll only be destroyed himself by higher level opponents. tough to see one of my former favorite athletes slowly fade into mediocrity.
