Thanks for the support guys. I regret to inform all that I am out of the fight with Condit. I herniated 2 discs in my lower back this week.

he's pulling out so he can face another guy who is not in the top 20 welterweights. Pyle, Mein, Swick, Ramos, Thompson, Cope, would any of these guys be ranked top 15 or top 20?

Anything related to lifting weights can result in a disc herniation. I have really good form when I lift, and I herniated a disc in my back by making one small mistake, once. It's a sucky injury.

Two herniated discs is at minimum several months worth of rehab, earliest we'll see Brown back is april/may next year might even be later then that depending on how badly the discs have shifted.

thanks for the headsup. Didnt think about weight lifting.

I have one in my lower back and two bulging discs in my neck - car accident. My recovery was rather quick though

The majority of people will see a significant improvement, possibly even a full recovery, within a month or two. My herniated disc still bothers me many months later; same thing happened to Brian Bowles. He has both herniations and degeneration in his discs and it really derailed him.

yeah, he trains and does HEAVY lifting with Maurice Clarette believe it or not. they showed a piece him lifting them and turning them huge ass monster truck tires. then running with massive pieces of chunk of metal laid on the ground that were strapped to his back...all kinds of crazy heavy cardio and heavy lifted. def did it.

I had no idea that Brown used to be a huge junkie to till watching that piece. He OD'd on heroin and doctors pronounced him dead for something like over a lil 2 minutes and revived em. suppose that's where "Immortal" comes from

I was shrugging 170kg, around 380lbs, but it wasn't really about the weight. I was putting the bar down and I was a bit distracted, and I absent-mindedly released the bar with one hand and not the other. So I'm holding the bar with my left hand, and not my right, for about two seconds, before I realise what I'm doing and just drop the bar. That's all it took. I was pretty well conditioned at the time, too, so I wasn't expecting to get injured so easily, but it really just takes some small form mistakes. For a guy like Brown who's training so often, it's understandable that he suffered a herniation.

Hold bar at around waist level -> lift shoulders straight upwards -> hold momentarily -> release straight downwards, making sure not to rotate your shoulders at any point. It's a traps exercise.

For a shrug it's not a huge amount, because you're lifting with your traps, which is one of the strongest muscles in your body. It's really important to have good form in exercises where you're using a really powerful muscle group, because if you engage a weaker muscle group, the effects will be awful. If you roll your shoulders while shrugging, for example, you engage your rotator cuffs, and they're really easy to tear. I'd imagine something like that happened to Brown; if it was a weight lifting injury, he probably made a mistake in his form. Can happen to anyone really. If it was a sparring injury, I don't know how to explain that. Maybe he was going for a takedown and arched his back too sharply or something similar.

Lauzon/Danzig added to the main card. Both guys have lost 2 in a row and both coming off brutal losses. Danzig left moaning after the Melvin KO, and Lauzon worked over 3 rounds by Johnson.

A very possible two 5Unit max wagers on this card. I've never done that.

    Card is easy money.
