This truly is unbelievable that a 39 year old man is pulling this off. loses in height, reach, size with every opponent. DC was totally correct when he said "there are levels in this stuff". Please Lesnor might be a -1000 dog. I felt the same way about Stipe as i did with Weidman. Something just missing with these guys. The talent is just not there with a super stud guy to take over. Stipe has a lot of skills but he gets hit and can go down at any moment just like tonight. Weidman looked unstoppable but i never thought he was that great of a boxer. DC was raking Stipe's eyes that's for sure.. Still Stipe was continuing to pepper DC with everything but the kitchen sink and DC didn't even flinch...
DC looked like a complete over weight slob and he was slow but all he needed was that one inside punch to land.. Bingo it landed and down went Stipe... HW's with those small gloves on can create alot of damage and in a hurry. Stipe got dropped and slept...Comment -

I believe the only time he wasn't on juice was against OSP where he looked just good enuf to win. DC is definitely carrying a ton of BF % but he trains with the best HW ever and hes super stocky, amazing wrestling with huge power and amazing clinch techniques .. this was a 50/50 fight and he came out on topComment -
I agree, I think Stipe was gassing a bit as well there even in the 1st round.. He was trying to hard to finish DC... Eye pokes didn't help matters either.. No telling if Stipe had blurred vision after that thumb in the eye socket..

this guy gets it... hes not the most naturally gifted/ or athletic fighter but he has a TON of skill /technique and at HW he has great power/ short build for clinching/takedowns , guys an animal, whats hes accomplished with his tools is amazing hes not a specimen like Jones and hes done all this

I remember when Rumble Johnson hit him flush with one of his haymakers and DC didn't drop.. I thought then this dude has granite chin.. Took a flush head kick to finally rock DC from Jon Jones.. Still DC wasn't out cold.. That was probably like getting hit in the head with a baseball bat..

Man, can't believe people still doubt DC. Maybe five years ago it would be ok, back then I didn't know who DC was either, and when I saw how big of a favorite he was in strikeforce and his weigh in pictures, well I made a mistake, but I never bet against him ever since. After seeing him fight, he lit up the other guy on the feet and took him down at will as well, truly looked like a complete mixed martial artist even in the beginning, in a fight sense.
Still see a lot of people underestimating DCs standup. When he couldn't get Gustafsson down, he beat Gustafsson with his standup and when the same thing happened against Jon Jones, he was still able to take multiple rounds from Jon Jones with his standup. Who else has done that besides Gustafsson who he beat? And JJ has an even bigger reach than Miocic and was probably on stuff both fights. If Jones didn't have insane cardio in the later rounds, who knows what would have happened in those fights.
Stipe is a great fighter and did well pressuring DC against the cage, but DC was landing pretty well even before the poke at the end of the round. Who knows. Will be interesting to see if DC actually retires after the Lesnar fight. He's getting to 40 but the whole HW division is aged, even Stipe is only 3y 5mo younger.
Edit: Also what a dick for Brock Lesnar to call Stipe a POS after getting KO'ed. If Stipe and Lesnar ever met in the cage, Lesnar would be in the fetal position tapping for mercy before the first round ended. I'm surprised Lesnar has the cajones to want to get in the cage with DC, the last time he fought a guy from AKA, he was flailing around the octagon, looking ridiculous enough to produce probably the most well known MMA meme ever.Last edited by Degenregen; 07-08-18, 12:51 AM.Comment -
