    You should either flat out pay him, or tell him what happened and offer to pay him......Maybe you guys can settle on half the amount or something

    If my "friend" did this to me I would let him pay in installments and probably even accept less than the full amount.......But if he tried to stiff me and pull this kind of bullshit for a good chunk of change shit would get really ugly, and quick

    UGH. With age comes wisdom and your learn eventually, these are the kinds of things that you just dont do. BUT, IF you do, you have to be prepared to pay the consequences. You knew going into it that he took $1000 of his hard earned money and trusted you (which you agreed to do) to make the bet. AT THAT POINT ITS A DEAL. Once you took his $ you knew that if Manny won (I still am in shock that he didnt) you were going to keep the money. If Bradley won, your friend was going to need to get his $4600.00. If you werent able to pay if Manny lost you should have called him BEFORE the fight. Sorry you're dealing with it and hope he isnt a really good friend you were trying to make money off of in the first place.

    if money changed hands and you told him his bet had action, then you are a stiff if you don't pay him. This is no different then clicking submit on one of your wagers online. He watched that fight believing he had 1,000 dollars in play. That rigged decision went in his favor, so you are now obligated to pay him his money.

    the name mac4lyfe says it all...you have ambitions of being a hustler and making easy money. You failed. Why wouldn't you offer him a payment plan at least? If anything, your friend will enjoy having something on you and you'll be able to escape without causing damage to him. I don't care how good of a friend you are to him, or vice versa, no one is that dumb to believe any sort of excuse that it was an accident. If a normal person couldn't get the bet in, they would tell their friend way before the fight ended. no excuse not to text. Your screwd on every possible explanation except telling him the god's honest truth. A user's name and spending time on an internet gambling forum can become dangerous...people start to believe they are their fantasy self and this sort of thing happens.
