I got a new rule in Womens MMA - always bet on the uglier girl with the worse body.. Cuties get worked typically at the UFC level from what I noticed.. The ugly ones like Cyborg just kick ass and probably because they were never told they were pretty and they better fight and win instead in life..

No idea? Alot of MMA fans like these chick fights.. I admit they are sometimes entertaining but usually they all go the distance and are pretty boring for the most part..

Good showing by Dern.

She needs to work on her athleticism though. You can see she wasn't very strong in the clinch.

Of course some of the judges could go 30-27 Yoder the way things have been going.

That should not have been a unanimous decision. Dern clearly won 1 (higher sig strikes) and 3 (takedown and control)

Judging blows.

She is going to be good, this was her 6th career fight. Being elite at an important aspect of the sport like BJJ really raises your upside. Just shows how impressive Ortega's rise to 3rd ranked in division in 13 career fights is remarkable.

She has some good toughness. I like how she brawled her way into the clinch even though she was clearly the less technical striker. She improves her striking skill but keeps her decent power and toughness and she will be a lot tougher.

Her last 5 opponents have a combined record of 20-16. The last girl she beat had the best record and was 39 years old.

When betting decisions, you've absolutely gotta be factoring in awareness of which fighters are getting a push from the sponsorship to possibly become future stars. Perhaps the judging may be fair, but on close calls judges will almost always show love for those fighters. Every time. Was there really any doubt McGregor would win that Diaz 2 decision? Same thing here.
