And yes it is surprising. Haven't you ever watched any UFC events? Where the matchmaking is more even. Yet you still see guys at -300 and -400 lose all the time. The odds don't reflect skill unless the matchmaking is terrible.
Go parlay all the favorites ont he main card of a UFC event for... see if you can get 1 out of 30. This is about to go 2 for 2 main cards for 2 consecutive events, I haven't checked previous events.

well i parlayed woodley and mo lawal- with the saints for a big win(when the game was close. i also just got lawler in for 2 units -120, and just won that. Who is complaining? you're an idiot

Yeah when I saw it, was too good to pass up. When Amalgov went for the takedown, I was annoyed.
I hate these cards. I can't help but lay down some action but I can't bring myself to lay the juice and there is usually one fight that busts it if you go the parlay route. I won on Lawler tonight but lost all but like $10 and some retarded u/o plays.
The main card of the next UFC is fairly juicy too.

If anything I've always thought that smaller organizations like strikeforce and bellator tend to have more underdogs win than in the UFC. I've never crunched the numbers though so I could be wrong. And usually it comes from the undercard since you have less experienced guys who can improve much quicker than established veterans.
As V1y and Vaughn have pointed out.... the sample size for this guy's observation is weak.
