______________
it did look a lot like bendo v frankie in there...and, as Vaughany observed, a drop in weight-class is definitely required just as it was with frankie...and (just as with frankie) he'll discover that the drop will not be the quick path to domination...it'll just get him back on even footing size-wise with the army of similarly-talented bangers and cardio-phenoms...
the breadth of the talent pool in the UFC has been growing rapidly before our eyes with each and every event (when frankie finally dropped to feather, i thought it'd be just him, chad, and aldo full-stop...now there are a half-dozen other beasts at that weight-class (now joined most emphatically by the self-effacing irishman...scary how he made poirier look...i think swanson and even aldo soiled their undergarments watching that)
interestingly enough, just last night the "drop weight or perish" boom also landed on shlemenko...gone are the days of the super-talented little energizer bunnies fighting bigger guys...and say hello to more weight-cutting complications among other things...
to think that alvarez was a welterweight-champ in some not-bad promos not that long ago...had to drop to lightweight in Bellator...now in UFC he'll have to drop to feather...
the better the organization, the lower the weightclass u'll need to suffer your way into...offset by the bigger bucks to make it worth the sufferingLast edited by fitguy67; 09-28-14, 12:30 AM.Comment -

#918that "pop-eyed" look is from cutting weight...common in eating-disorders...in this case, it's an occupational hazard...even when you rehydrate that "look" might not go away...everyone's body responds to the excessive body-mass/water loss differently
a great undercard battle could be "creepy looking" cariaso vs. the real "uncle creepy" mcCallComment -

#920MD, we need more posts from you like this...and less of the pissy-pedantic (i'm right and you're wrong) and/or petty (i'm cool and you aren't) variety...

#921Hey Sac you really do need to calm yourself down and decide whether or not you want to keep posting on this forum . You're acting like some Aleister Crowley type of Jezebel and I don't like it.
I'm the one who controls the energy that enters and leaves this subforum and I don't wanna have to flex on you but if you're not gonna listen then
I'd rather you stay and keep posting that's up to youLast edited by illmatick; 09-28-14, 06:21 AM.Comment -

#927Still can't believe Kennedy was +240 while Romero was refusing to get off the stool. I think I freerolled myself, if Romero actually didn't get up I bet that live bet gets cancelled.Comment -

#928Not really though, even if it gets cancelled 100% of the time it gets called there, Kennedy +240 was good value there. Romero appeared to still be hurt, Kennedy had all the momentum. I took Kennedy at +150 20 seconds before that and feel good about it.Comment -

#934I agree.. That loss really prevented me from having a huge night.. Rules are rules - You don't answer the bell you lose the fight..
It's a tough call for a ref to make in such a big fight though and Kennedy should have finished the fight in the 3rd regardless.. Love to see a re-match..
At +240 live betting I would have loaded up on that bet last night between rounds.. I thought Romero was done.. Lucky I didn't see it...Comment -

#941I'm aware of that. And I know Crowley wrote a poem "Jezebel", but I've not read it.
Everyone I've ever met who is into Crowley is either a 14 year old boy, or someone with an awesome drug collection.
Them: "I'm having an opium party"
Me: "Are you a Chinaman in 1910?"Comment -
