    Sounds like Dana has some outside-the-box idea for Penn... judging from the context of his comments.

    Penn-Spider? Penn-Diaz --> if they find Nick? I dunno, but Dana sounds like he's got some wild proposal for BJ... and given Penn's ability to go up and down in weight... who knows... Aldo, Gil Melendez? Sh*t, I'm curious to see what they got planned for BJ now.

    This really sucks. Hopefully Nick doesn't get cut from the UFC, would really like to see him against Penn.

    i just stumbled onto the webpage for the new "nick diaz cookbook"....i pulled nick`s recipe for boiling water :

    1)put a stock pot w/8 cups of water on a burner turned to "high"....

    2)do NOT check...

    3)come back 2 hours later and remove the scorched,empty pan from the burner.....

    so,this turn of events isn`t all that shocking,imo....

    or in nick`s case,in the toaster......i say this in jest as i am a diaz fan...he`s tough,arrogant and comes to fight every time out.....guy`s got some seriously hard bark on him....

    but,we`re missing the more important news(from a gambling perspective)......phan/garcia II appears to be a reality....

    i was ready to commit seppuku after the original part II was cancelled....

    Anyone see any reason not to put a few units on St Pierre by decision at -190? Obviously the most likely outcome in my mind as Condit has pretty bad TDD but also has the heart and conditioning to survive a five round grind by GSP. Losing BIG on the usually dependable Sonnen by decision has made me a little gun shy.

    GSP probably couldn't finish Condit if this was a 50 round fight.

    Take the -3.5. That's what I did with Sonnen and it worked great. If GSP wins it will be pretty easy to score.

    I love Matt Mitrione here. Kongo isn't relevant in the UFC, but he's a great opponent for inexperienced fighters like MM to gain experience against. Mittrione is definitely still very green, but I see him beating Kongo.

    Mitrione should take it as Kongo is easy to hit. But Kongo is clearly a step-up from Meat Head's previous opponents, especially with regards to athleticism and experience. Even his buddy McCorkle made a gag on Helwani's mmahour about Mitrione being fed cans by the UFC (Helwani pointed out that McCorkle got beat by one of those cans so kinda backfired!)

    The fight is in 11 days. Why should they take it on such short notice?

    hmmm because:

    a) Guarantees future big fights even if they lose as they are in UFC's good books, and puts them in contention for a title shot if they were to beat Condit;

    b) Massive payday - probably be at least 3 times what Koscheck or Ellenberger would usually get paid;

    c) For Ellenberger it would be a re-match against a guy that he lost a close split-decision to (redemption);

    d) For Kos it's his only chance of skipping a load of other guys that he'd have to face first before getting close to another shot at being No1 contender.

    And as I write this Koscheck just tweeted Dana saying "Duty calls again??"...
    Is that enough wise guy?

    Looks like Condit wants to wait it out so Koscheck isnt going to get his wish. Cant blame Condit after so many changes.

    Doubt the ufc would let it happen anyway. If Koscheck were to beat Condit they would lose a title contender. It would be even worse if Diaz were to lose as well

    I would have liked to make a Pierre/Nelson parlay but I'm more disappointed as an MMA fan than a bettor.

    Diaz camp wants a five rounder... I wonder why that is?

    The article says that the fight is staying at 3 but hypothetically would this void any bets placed on this fight so far or would they be left as is? Diaz's cardio and pace is his best (I think only) advantage in this fight so a five rounder definitely changes things a bit.
