Is Diego worth the price versus the old battleworn Hughes?

Not sure, but with Diego's chin, sub defence and relentless pace I find it hard to imagine Hughes beating Diego.

Not much interests me on this card from a betting perspective, except maybe Ferguson against Riley but he'll probably be a big favourite.

Jon Jones is the new breed. Rampage has been past his prime for about a half decade now. Odds are correct. Quinton is outmatched but the price is way too steep to be backing Bones. I'll be on the sideline. Gomi is a live dog.

He still could be, his first fight as a Middleweight wasn't scheduled till November. I figure putting Matt Hughes into retirement is too sweet of an opportunity to pass up. He's been trying to get this fight for ages. We'll see if Hughes accepts.

Still unofficial, but another report came out this morning that Koz accepted.

I thought it was up to Hughes to accept. Kos is all about it. Got a feeling Kos gets a tko here.

Yeah Kos accepted yesterday, just waiting for Hughes to accept. One could surmise that the longer it takes him to accept the more likely it is that he isnt to confident?!

Could be, or it could be working another plan. Hughes took the fight with Thiago because he was guaranteed a match with Matt Serra regardless if he won or lost. That fight with Serra was supposed to be his retirement fight.

    Three possibilities:

    1. Cancels fight
    2. More money to fight Kos
    3. Agrees to fight Kos on stipulation that they guarantee him to one or more more fights afterwards.

Completely agree, Hughes has some leverage here with the UFC imo.

I hope he takes the fight but since this is the last fight on his contract makes me think he'll puss out. He doesn't want to go out a loser and fighting Kos will pretty much ensure that. This is one fight Hughes has been legitimately ducking for the past two years. It's funny reading what Kos has to say, he's practically trying to shame Hughes into accepting it.

I can see him canceling this fight and waiting till Diego's hand heals up.

Oh I guess there's a fourth possibility: they get someone besides Kos to fight Hughes.

Sounds like there's been some deal reached with Hughes and they're going to announce his new opponent pretty soon.

Hughes has supposedly signed to fight someone. Everyone's waiting on Hughes to make the announcement.

He said yes to either Kos or Fitch. I find that a bit odd. I wonder if he actually said yes to Fitch and is waiting to hear back from the UFC.

Either guy takes out Hughes... I'd rather see Kos over Fitch though, he seems to mix it up better and can actually throw some bombs.

I want Kos, better chance of someone getting KO'd. Plus it'll be fun watching these two pricks try to kill each other in there.

I was talking to Mikey Burrnett a while back about his experience on TUF. He was telling me that everyone hated Hughes the moment he stepped into the gym. Total phony and would start talking about Jesus when he knew the cameras were around. There was a crazy story about Matt told everyone about how God sent down angels to help him during his fights against Trigg and Penn.

For some reason I just don't like Jones at all. I know there is only a small punchers chance for Rampage to win, but I really hope that Rampage gets lucky in this fight. I can't stand Jon Jones being so damn cocky. If Rampage can't pull it off I'll be pulling for Evans to do it.

Bad match up for Hughes. He had a pretty good shot against Diego, but Kos is too powerful, and will probably knock Matt out.

Anyone else excited to see Travis Browne back after his brutal ko of Struve? He's going to put a beating on Broughton
