If Shields wins for some reason then he would be the most valued underdog bet so far this year.

i really cant see shields winning. GSP is so amazing in every aspect of mma. above average striking, the best wrestling, and great jiu jitsu.

I would wreck Giant Silva. Bigfoot would be another story.

GSP has great jiu jitsu? I wouldn't go that far. Id say he's got a slippery style of grappling.

St.Pierre -8.5 points handicap is now -155 on 5dimes. I think this has a lot of value. If gsp wins 4 out of the 5 rounds you win. I don't see shields winning any rounds.

i`m not so sure about this...i think that gsp may well eventually wear down shields(he has a bit of a chink in his cardio,imo)....

but a grappling match is what i want to see.....st pierre has out-grappled everybody of late...but shields has been out-grappling guys for years....

and some of it at 185 to boot...

i hope it goes to the ground from the jump...i know everybody hopes for violent action....but for this one,i want to see two top level grapplers doing what they do best.....

if i wasn`t worried that shields` cardio may betray him and he might just get stopped because of wearing down ,i might just take those points....

i really don`t think gsp wants this to go to the ground(at least not early)....he knows what kind of grappler shields is....and i`m sure he knows that shields` stand-up is about as bad as any top contender in any division....shields` striking borders on the absurd...

agreed rocky, GSP will want to keep it standing as long as he can. I see a fight similar to Koscheck, GSP circling and peppering Shields with jabs, keeping his distance to avoid the takedown. When he does take GSP down, I am confident GSP can get out of it pretty quickly and keep it standing, like he wants. Shields is slow and sloppy with his striking..GSP has a HUGE advantage in that area and I am sure he will use it. GSP via tko in the 4th or 5th is what I am thinking for this fight..Shields will wear down and get caught.

i dont see jake shields standing there and taking shots like kos did. kos was trying to play tuff guy and show everyone he can take shots. Jake shields is better fighter then kos.

I agree that maybe I wasnt giving Shields enough credit in the last comment and he will probably fight smarter than Kos. Anyways, GSP is more well rounded and has the big advantage of surprising his opponent with what type of fight he is going to fight, especially lately with his much improved boxing skills....with Shields, you know how he is going to fight.

no one will know til it happens. Jake has been waiting for this moment all his career. Hes not gonna let it go easy. I personally think shields is going to win.. going out on a short limb but just got a gut feeling. I do not see gsp finishing him. If jake is going to win its gonna be within first 3 rounds.. if it goes past 3 i believe gsp will take it.

Standing or grappling I don't see shields winning rounds 3,4, or 5. I just don't think he has the condition to do it. That means he has to win the first two rounds and I don't see that happening either.

of course noone will know til it happens... that is a very cliche line that is used too much. If GSP didnt already run through basically all the top contenders in the WW division, Shields wouldn't even be in line for a title shot this fast. He was brought in by UFC, won a split decision to Martin Kampmann (I was at that fight, Shields did not impress me at all), and now he is fighting GSP for the WW belt. Hell, I really think Shields vs Fitch should have happened before this fight, but if Fitch won, which I really think he would win that fight, that would have set up GSP vs Fitch 2..and not many people really want to see that one. GSP in Canada is not to be f*cked with...I wont bet against GSP in Canada, I dont like throwing my money away, even with great dog odds for Shields.

Yea against a wrestler like GSP you desperately need to have good striking so you can create problems for him. GSP is going to show the world just how bad shields boxing really is.

Jake Shields is going to win. Everyone is talking about GSP's wrestling, but thats where Shields is better. This fight will not be standing up, so no need to talk about Shields poor boxing. Shields by Submission 2nd round.

Only one I kind of like out of that parlay is Ben Henderson...even then, my money is on Bocek to pull it out. Huge win though if it hits...wow. Good luck!

GSP wins this fight standing handily, and tries to grab takedowns only if he feels pressured on the feet. Which he won't.

I'm a little more worried about Machida. If Randy is able to put him up against the cage often, then he stands a good chance of getting the nod. That's if Machida doesn't decorate the canvas with his bits.

Hominick is a dangerous man. I'd imagine Aldo is going to give him a ton of respect in the first round. He'll be timid with his kicks, and mainly focused on countering for the fight. As to who will win this I have no idea.
