a takedown to guard should be considered a neutral position

Positional advantage is worthless if you don't do anything with it. The judging criteria should reflect that.

I had mousasi by decision +500. Shogun over Machida (first fight) by decision +500. Kampmann over sanchez by decision +something (I forget). Phan and Zombie by decision over Zombie. Ive been robbed more times than I can remember. Imagine how much money one could make if they get the judging right. I guess just bet heavier weights and fighters that finish.

Dana needs to get off his ass and do something about it. This is America, the govt kowtows to billion dollar businesses, not the other way around.

Warren was the last leg in a parlay I had. Next time I lose a bet and I think it is a robbery I need to remind myself of this one.

MMA judging is probably the biggest joke right now in all of professional sports. You have to remember though, MMA is still in it's infantile stages. For god sakes, we have boxing judges scoring these MMA fights. Seriously, these are guys that know 3x less about real MMA fighting than you and me. It's currently extremely frustrating, but give it some time.

It will improve somewhat, but you do have to remember there are threads on this site in every single sport bitching about officials. Just don't want people to lose sight of it all. There is far worse judging going on out there, and even if they do serious work on it, it will never be anywhere near perfect.

You realize that the State Commission assigns refs and judges for every fight, right? Dana has no power over "his boys" getting a gift decision.
Well that isn't strictly true. Often times Commissions will allow judges to be brought in by Zuffa. Case in point: Paul Sutherland (from England) and Sal D'Amato (from the US) were chosen by Mark Ratner to judge at UFC 127. Rather amusingly, Dana White bemoaned both of the aforementioned judges' score cards in the Ring/Fukuda fight, even though he was the person who authorised them to come to Australia and judge in the first instance.

It would still be beyond stupid for him to influence decisions when his business is skyrocketing and they are trying to make the sports as legit as possible.

Ratner appoints the judges at all the UK events. Germany and Abu Dhabi too. I think pretty much all of the overseas events.
