Tether (USDT) is peg with USD, it normally don't fluctuate at all, it's value 1$ almost everytime.

Tether is a stable coin. It allegedly has 1$ backed for every 1 Tether in existence... But the proof is lacking. Also, at one point- Bitfinex, the creator of tether was insolvent so they were fractionally backing tether (this is memory and 2nd hand info- but I believe it is accurate).

In short, Tether will work until it doesn't. It'll be valued at or very near $1 until it crashes to nothing. I believe it's vulnerable to black swan events. Finally- I've heard on two podcasts RECENTLY that tether is NOT censorship resistant. This is why we use Bitcoin in Sportsbetting. To get around restrictions from governments who choose to censor sportsbooks from the legacy financial system.

I've never, and won't ever touch Tether. The advantage would be the lack of fluctuation in short term price... but I have a long term positive outlook on BTC. So there's literally nothing about tether that I like.

The biggest demand imo for Tether and these other stable coins are people who don't live in the USA who want dollars. It's difficult for them to get access to dollars in the legacy system- however it's easier for them to get tether.

This means it is still better to stick with Bitcoin to use for deposit then. 🤔

I wish they settled on a more reputable stable coin, like USDC.

Stables are a great idea, but I wish there was some more solid basis for some of them. Might have to wait for more formal regulatory acceptance for that,
