    coinbase

Anybody got an email for coinbase? Nobody answers the phone there. I tried support@coinbase.com. Does not deliver. I have been trying for a month. I have account open and bank account confirmed. I tried to make my first buy. Coinbase website told me 5 days. I waited 3 weeks, nothing. Very confusing website.
Is it always 5 days? When I am ready to send money to a book, I want it done same day.

did they ask you to verify the transaction when you click into it? they do that with me and i have to always send my license and do a selfie.

they are the worst to reach. have the same problem. exact reason why i will not buy too much bitcoin using them.

They actually answer the phone and a robot gives me options. Still have not talked to a live person. I don't believe humans actually run this place. A friend thinks coinbase has about 30,000,000 customers with a staff of 3 people.

If you send bitcoin from coinbase to a gambling site they will close your coinbase account.

they have not closed me down and i have done this. they do ask me to verify each transaction though with a license and selfie as i said which becomes annoying taking a selfie with their camera app.

This is only true for some people. No lie I send from coinbase pretty much every day to sportsbook and they haven't banned me. It's just random I guess.

Their email response time on average is 3 months. No joke. Like the other guy said they have 3 million customers but only have 3 employees. They are awful. They are so cheap they won't hire anybody to answer the phone.

I know a guy that makes constant (sometimes 2-3 a day) $50 deposits from CB for years always direct...multiple sportsbooks and they have never said a thing...

Better safe than sorry. But coinbase pisses me off so much with their non existent customer service and fees sometimes I wish they would ban me. I only use them because for some reason they accept my debit card but other exchanges wont.

I got banned years back before i realized what would happen if i transferred to a book.. I use localbitcoins to buy and sell bitcoins.. if you create the ad to buy and sell, you can actually make a profit.. if you just buy and sell from going to the ads, the fees can be pricey

Another reason why coinbase sucks. Every once in a while when I send from coinbase it will say pending and they won't immediately send out the funds. I made a transfer 5 hours ago and it still says pending. It would be nice if they warned you first that they are not going to send the funds immediately. So frustrating.

My problem with paxful is they charge a set .0005 fee when you transfer funds. Even though they send it with a much lower fee. I have complained to them about this and their only answer is that is the blockchain fee. It would be alright if they sent with that fee but they are not. Localbitcoins charges a much lower fee when sending. I know .0005 isn't much but when you do 10 transactions a day it adds up.

yes localbitcoins adjusts as the price changes. Localbitcoins also has more number of traders that are active at all times

How does coinbase know which BTC addresses are for gambling sites since the address changes every time?

I believe CB removed the instant withdrawal option now(it used to be instant if you bought with Debit/CC).

I withdrew my $100 BTC from SBR with Coinbase and sent it right to my Paypal, it said it could take a couple days but it ended up happening instantly - which was nice.

I think I am going to wait for books to come up with another money transfer option. Coinbase is not working for me. My account seems dead. Maybe find another way to buy bitcoin.

No one who works outside Coinbase security can tell you with certainty.

But we believe the simplest way people lose accounts is when someone else tells them their transfers have been to sportsbooks, and Coinbase then traces those transactions to the place they are consolidated and cashed out. And then traces any addresses that fed those accounts.

Gemini.com or the CashApp on your phone are the next two most popular.

If you are comfortable using wires, the Australian exchange independentreserve.com is my #1 recommendation for USA users personally.

They don't care about gambling and there is no US tax forms or other automatic reporting of activity. And none of the waiting crap.

    Good info. Opti, Thanks.

I'm holding my breath to see if Gemini sends me a tax form like Coinbase did a few yrs ago.

There still will be some Australian required reporting if it's large enough amounts to trigger that. I should have just said none of the normal USA tax forms stuff.

I remember when they first came out with their phone number. I thought this is great no more waiting 3 months for a response. I tried the phone number and no lie I was on hold for 4 hours and 45 minutes before I finally gave up and turned off the phone. Never again. You need to understand if you have an issue with them you are on your own. They will not help you unless you can wait about 6 months.
