    I guess that is good.

Raiders, what do you think about all these forks and how it will affect bitcoin? Some are saying that bitcoin cash will overtake bitcoin as the #1 cryptocurrency.

Right now, BTC is still my favorite. I think it will continue to rise.

Let me get this straight, you get 10 diamond for every btc and each diamond is worth $68, meaning each btc gets $680 worth of diamond??? Holy shit if true, and sure wish I knew this was happening today.

the airdrop happened last night at block 495866. if you had your balance on nitro you won't get your free coins.

if you had your balance on your own wallet its best to wait for the wallet provider to release a splitting tool so you can claim them or take a risk and convert your backup pass phrase into a private key and import that into a bitcoin diamond supported wallet after you've moved your original bitcoins to another wallet first.

if youre not adept at the latter i'd not take the risk because once your private key gets exposed online your coins are at risk.

If the BTC was in Binance, yes. There are a couple of other places too. Otherwise we will have to wait until we find out wallets and exchanges that support bitcoin diamond to get the free coins. Don't export private keys anywhere right now.

You can't buy bitcoins to get the freebie now. If you owned bitcoins at the time of the fork, it will depend on where you held it. As long as you own and don't export your private keys, you have bitcoin diamond. Some exchanges should split it up for you and you won't have to do a thing.

It will take a little time for this to sort out. This fork was low key and not many wallets and exchanges support it right now.

Can somebody ELI5 it to Bitcoin noobs? To always get those new kinds of Bitcoin after a hard fork took place I have to keep my coins in a place (wallet, exchange, etc.) that supports the new currency, right?

What if the coins are in a hardware or paper wallet? I just transferred most of my coins from Blockchain.info into a paper wallet a few days ago. Assumed that Blockchain.info supports the fork, did I miss the chance to get the new Bitcoin or do I just have to import the private key into Blockchain.info to be qualified for it?

    Thanks.

You still get the new coin if you held bitcoin in a paper wallet at the time of the fork.

At some stage you will need to import that wallet into a wallet that supports this new coin in order to access them.

No one knows which wallet or where you can trade it as yet though.

raiders what is the current true bitcoin price now if you factor in all the splits and just held the splits also. bitcoin is way over 10,000 already then.
