If it hits 10,000... the sell offs would be rather large. Wonder how much it drops?

Anyone see those odd articles that 1 Bitcoin could be worth 200,000??? Come on now. It doesn't mention what year.... all it states is that it has the power to reach 200,000

Should we just use these coins as our retirement fund? lol

Tbh my friend you better buy now before it takes off even more yea 8k is a lot when it takes its dip i dont see it ever dropping below 6.5k now that's just my opinion. If you dont wanna buy now wait and buy each time it dips. Wants more people start learning about bitcoin/more business accept the currency its will just get bigger and bigger.

A funny thing, all the grueling handicapping (pts per play, ATS, injury review,
off rebounds per game, defense on 3rd down, ect) has returned a
break even or slightly negative ROI.

…and if I just blindly sat on BTC, I’d have a 400% ROI!

As Tony Soprano would say “What are ya gonna do”

Bitcoin has been a bet we all could have won.

So many of us just didn't want to gamble on leaving it be before withdrawing

This is lunacy. I remember when Bitcoin was valued at $500 and thinking that was absurd.

Good point. Anyone who really dug in when bitcoin was $1,000 or lower... and hung on.... wow.... you're at least 50k to the good... if not more.

In May of 2015, BTC were valued at $233.33.

Today, Nov of 2017 BTC is valued at $8,213.

    That is a 35X return.

I thought my friends were crazy two years ago when they said it would hit 10k within a few years when it was roughly 350-400. Now experts are saying 40k or more, no doubt in my mind anymore. As high as 200k isn't out the question to me anymore, most likely in 2020 if I had to bet when it's completely mainstream at every corner.

Does anyone use arbitrage in trading Bitcoin?

For instance, you can buy on Gemini at $8,893.
    Transfer to Coinbase.
    Transfer from Coinbase to Gdax.
    Sell on Gdax at $9,003.

Is this worth it to anyone? I'm already approved to trade on Gdax. I signed up with Gemini just to see what their prices were, but they require a wire to get started, which requires me to go my local bank to initiate it and I don't want to go thru the hassle unless the arb'ing was really worth it.

The more I think about it, you couldn't do this continously and just arb your way to large profits because the problem comes with Getting $$$ after you've sold on Gdax and you have cash - back to a bank account and put back onto Gemini. There's always a delay on withdrawals which keeps people from doing this with the exact same piece of cash.

I was thinking I could do this with $1,000 and make 1% each time I do it - $10. Do that 10 times a day and you have $100. The problem is you'd have to have $10,000 to do it, and then you couldn't do it the next day because by the time you withdraw back to your bank account it'd be 4 -7 days later.

For that spread not worth it, you aren't factoring in cost of buying and selling and wiring money back and forth.

Are physical bitcoins worth anything? I got a package from Amazon on Friday and there were 8 bitcoins in the package. No idea why.

Seems like they're more of a novelty item; I doubt they're $9000 a piece. Be pretty cool if they were though.

I remember 2013 when it was around 200 in October, shot up to 1000 in December and crashed back down to 200 in 2014.

    Fun times!

This is a great post. Sports-handicapping is incredibly difficult. Sometimes not even worth the effort (at least that's the way I feel today).

$9000 Bitcoin? Great, but... I see choppy seas ahead.

Thing is, for Bitcoin to boldly go to $100,000 and beyond faces a problem: All crypto exchanges (that enable swapping fiat currency for Bitcoin) are centralized, making them vulnerable to government attack and shut down. (Surprise, surprise, the Chinese shut down all their exchanges.)

But when there's a decentralized system through which anyone can swap dollars for crypto without going through a centralized exchange, it's game over for the banks. (Decentralized means there's no central website like say, coinbase.com because that can be attacked.)

The closest to this at the moment is LocalBitcoins.com where anyone can buy and sell Bitcoin. It still requires bank transfer of funds, but each trader insists no buyer make reference to crypto or bitcoin in the bank transaction codes. The transfer simply appears as a normal movement of funds from one account to another. Bitcoin isn't mentioned, so the banks have no idea that a crypto purchase or sale has just been completed.

My question: Does anyone know if a decentralized exchange system is being developed? If so, can't wait

There is no such thing as a physical Bitcoin.

The physical coins you see around is just a marketing thing. A guy started minting them and stamping wallet addresses on them and selling them.

They are more like a paper wallet than an actual coin.

Would like to see a pic of these 8 bitcoins Amazon sent though!

Go to Amazon.com and search for "Bitcoin Coins". Lots of novelty options. Kind of neat looking,
