But don't worry, you're not screwed. There's still two options:

1. You can sell you BTC for any other currency, move that currency to Bittrex, then sell it back for BTC there -- presto, you're in.

Note: for the hard fork Bittrex has placed an air gap between its site and its BTC wallets, so your BTC won't appear in your wallet. It's still there, though, and you can "see it" if you go to the page to sell your BTC for USDT.

OR, 2. Download and install the following wallet (it's pretty user friendly): https://electrum.org/#home . Then get a deposit address from your new wallet, withdraw your BTC from wherever it is and send it to Electrum and you're done.

TTT, my man, I hear ya. What I'm doing so far is using some fiat/tether to buy a bit, but not selling any of my real alts, but I have no idea if that's a wise move or completely idiotic.

Here's the thing: on the one hand the bitcoin community LOATH BTG. They divide about 50/50 between people who think BTG's an outright scam and those who think it'll trade for basically zero.

On the other hand, I've now found two (real or fake?) futures markets that seem to be pricing BTG at about $450, so I dk what to believe:

No prob, my friend. You've got it exactly right: as long as your BTC is in your Electrum wallet tonight, tomorrow you can send it wherever you want and you'll still qualify for the BTG whenever this joke of a development team finally gets it market ready, which they currently describe as, "sometime in November."

One thing, though: don't wait too long to move your BTC because at some point this afternoon / tonight everywhere's going to shut down BTC transfers in both directions. Why? Well, as the Second Rule of Acquisition teaches us, "hard forks produce a vulnerability subject to replay hack attacks, so everybody stops transfers for a few hours on either side of them."

BTG will probably turn out to be almost worthless, but who knows? Can you name a time or two when conventional wisdom about crypto has turned out to be not quite 100% correct?

Hell, I can name 10 times I've been stone cold dead WRONG, just off the top of my head, so who knows if all these people really know anything to justify screaming "WORTHLESS!" or not.

Nitro send my payout with 4 blocks to go, whew! I did dumbly have some stuck on there on bets, but I originally thought the fork was going to be like 4 hours later, and really on the 25th not while some of it was already pending.
