Thanks for the heads up on Payza. I'd actually been hearing mostly good things. Based on your warning, I'll definitely undertake some hard core due diligence on them.

If you missed the most recent buying opportunity, but still want in to BTC, I recommend setting some buys now.

Why? Because BTC remains priced about $600 cheaper on Chinese exchanges than on western exchanges. I've spent the last two days in a working group with people I loath -- 4chan white supremacist types who really like the N word -- trying to crack the arbitrage, but it just doesn't seem possible to get western fiat onto Chinese exchanges. I'm frustrated and sleepless and ready to throw in the towel.

But here's the rub: someone, somewhere is almost certainly going to crack it. There's just too much easy money available for this situation to continue indefinitely. If and when they do, the prices will converge, with western prices dropping and Chinese prices rising.

If anybody has any ideas re: the arbitrage, please pm me.

Coinbase to Blockchain to Sportsbook is safer because if Coinbase catches what you're doing they can shut down your account.

Buying bitcoin from GDAX (Coinbase's investor platform) is cheaper than Coinbase itself (Retail platform), but if you need bitcoin now by credit card, you'll have to do it through Coinbase. GDAX takes 3-4 days since you have to ACH money into GDAX rather than using a credit card. However, sending from GDAX doesn't include a mining fee to your Blockchain wallet where sending directly from Coinbase charges a mining fee. If you already have money in the USD wallet, then simply login to GDAX using your Coinbase credentials, deposit using funds from your USD wallet and buy through there. Then when you have the bitcoin, withdraw to your Blockchain wallet. From there, transfer to your book.

Bank and Cc verified with Coinbase already from when I originally bought then moved to Bitfinex. Whichever is quicker and less fees I'll do between moving funds from Bitfinex or simply cashing that in and in the mean time using Cc or babk to get new bitcoin to blockchain to book.

Basically wanting to take 1,100 of profit from IOTA and leave rest there in Walker off exchanges.

Morning MPS, I used to to do this through bitfinex when they were still able to accept deposits from the US. BTC was $100-$200 lower on bitfinex for a while and I would deposit about 10k there, send it over to Itbit because they have same day wires. It was pretty sweet for the short time it lasted.
Are you not concerned about the turmoil in the Chinese markets right now? I would be worried about getting my deposit into one of their exchanges and then having some issue with sending it to an American one to withdraw.

thanks, sucks because i should've fallen asleep instead of waiting until 1am to get confirmed and sell right at the bottom

oh well... should've gotten the money orders from betonline instead, those are pretty good on fridays with fee credit of 50 (so they only cost 30)

Pretty happy w/ Bitcoin at the moment:

    1) Did BtC T/A via Coinfuel. Got a nice gift-card for Speedway. Filled up, and it was pretty seamless. I was worried that the cashier might not know how to process it, but she did. Scanned the BtC symbol and ran it as Pre-pay. Got a little discount at Coinfuel. I'd do it again.

    2) Price now back up close to 5000.

    3) I get the impression that the volatility has slowed down. Chance that this thing stabilizes btw 4500 and 5500, up to year-end?

Lot of novices trying to jump in to get that free money stuff with the new fork upcoming. All coins have been acting erratic the past week, not following usual trends for and against others. I exited all positions and monitoring it for a new entry point.

Yes, strange week. Usually the altcoins replicates bitcoin movement with added variance. So, when bitcoin goes up, most altcoins go up even more, and as last few weeks, a BTC dip cause a larger altcoins dip. Of course, each altcoin is different.

But last few days has been wacky. Bitcoin has been going up strongly, while altcoins are falling. One theory is many altcoins investors dropping them to buy BTC and receive the "free" Bitcoin gold. But looks too early for me, full 2 weeks before the fork. And there are some rumors that cast doubt on the viability of BGold. Even if those accusations of scam are false, BGold has a difficult road ahead, as it has minor support and the big Segwit2x fork looms in next month. Even BCash with wide support has been steadily declining and may be worthless in a few months.

Meanwhile, I am buying some altcoins for cheap, hoping that things go back to normal.

I am very diversified, own all midcoins available at bitfinex. Currently portfolio is about:
    BTC 27%
    ETH 16%
    BCH, XRP, LTC 8% each
Rest about 3-4% each (ETC, QTM, NEO, XMR, OMG, ZEC, Iota). EOS 1%
Dash is kept apart, bought a share of a masternode. Yields are fine, about 6%, beats lending at Bitfinex.

I have no small coins, ICOs, etc.

At the risk of stating the obvious, this is an excellent time to move some money from BTC to cash.

You and I actually own a lot of the same coins.

I'm weighted a bit more heavily in BTC (about 50%), Monero (about 20%) and ZEC (about 10%, and I'm accumulating) -- I've always loved the ultra anons -- but lighter in ETH (I'm a bit of a skeptic) and LTC.

I also don't own any ETC, QTM or NEO. Heh, Raiders is your guy for all things NEO and QTM.

At Bitstamp, I've had my eye on that huge buy wall all morning (currently at $5188 for 1300 btc, or about $6.7 million): https://www.bitstamp.net/market/tradeview/

Usually when a huge order goes on the book a few below market it's a fake, bot driven order that will always retreat as the price comes down, but that wall's been solid. I've seen it buy about $2 million worth of btc, so it looks like that guy's really looking to buy $9 million in btc today.

Agreed, the Bitcoin Gold fork is producing an excellent selling opportunity right now.

I think BTG's likely to be (nearly) valueless, but nobody has to take my word for it. Two days ago, BTG's own twitter feed retweeted this article which speculates BTG will be worth between .0001 BTC and .01 BTC (fifty bucks): https://bitcointechtalk.com/bitcoin-...w-8b3e645be409

If that's considered "good news" worth a retweet, that pretty strongly implies to me that even the developers of BTG don't expect it to be worth much.
