If I dont create and fund a wallet first the "+add funds" function just says error after I enter any amount. I also can just keep the btc in the wallet and not top up at all. So do you see how I have an extra step? I cant just hit +add funds to show a QR code and receive address to send btc to.

Yesterday it cost me $7 to send btc from my ledger to the bitpay btc wallet. Then another $7 and $4 network fee to +add funds to the card.

If bitpay decides to support bitcoin cash then all of this will be a wash because fees will be in the pennies.
use a desktop. same thing happened to me on android app. i could only xfer from bitpay wallet to card. using a desktop you put dollar amount u want to xfer and create an invoice to pay from any btc address. only problem is u have to do the math and estimate an amount if youre trying to clear out an account...i.e. i wanted to withdraw full nitro balance to card, but had to leave a few dollars in there bc obv bitpay didnt know my nitro balance (if that makes sense)

About the comment... they finally received the coins the next day (not in 15 minutes.)

The longest transaction I ever had on the Bitcoin Network took 10 hours for the first confirmation. Oddly enough... even though the Bitcoin Price dropped... (which means the value was less than originally requested) once received.... Because the transaction was AUTOMATED... they didn't cheat me out on the USD amount. Which was a huge advantage.

So, as long as you send out the right "quoted bitcoin amount".... you should be ok.

Out of 20+ deposits to Bitpay card... only 1 time did they ever change the amount because of the bitcoin fluctuation.... which I was very surprised... because they received it within 1 hour.

So, my point being... the 15 minute time frame doesn't matter. I don't know if them not receiving it within 24 hours does though??!?!?!

Just trying to help you out from my experiences. Just always triple check that bitcoin amount before you send. I hope it gets resolved for you. It's actually the best card ever made to be honest. Of course... I'm sure you don't feel it is currently.

And so have said just about every user over the last year or two who posted about it on forum.

Many of the new users are among those who finally begrudgingly got into bitcoin when SBR started offering it in the store.

I think it's a case of them needing a bit more time to get it all down than the early adopters is all.

I hear you. We are all living and learning. We all want to save $. We all want to kill 2 birds with one stone. Maybe even 3. lol

I always request from a book and send it to the blockchain wallet... because everyone heard the scare about how coinbase was screwing people over holding their money because wagering was illegal. Somehow coinbase knew offshore addresses. That was the rumor because.. books were using the same payout addresses all the time. That's why people were using blockchain wallet as the middleman. Then, we all got use to it. I know I did.

Then, this amazing Bitpay card came out... so at first... I was going sportsbook to blockchain wallet... to Bitpay. But, as you can see... the fees suck. How do we save $?

I've been using Gemini a lot. Gemini is an exchange... but you can use it as a wallet. The side effect is... they might be able to trace you like how Coinbase did. Why am I chancing it? Every account holder at Gemini... gets 30 Free Bitcoin transactions to send anywhere a month. That's right... Gemini will pay the fee. Doesn't come out of your BTC shares. So, if you have the book send the payout bitcoin to your Gemini address... you can send the bitcoin anywhere from Gemini... 100% free. I just started doing this a month ago. Again, the side effect is... they could close your acct or ask you where are you getting these Bitcoins from? Hey, I like free. lol So, I'm chancing it.

Just food for thought. Check it out in your spare time.

Posting this here in case there's some that don't look at the Bitcoin Sub-Forum:

It looks like Square Cash is beta testing on a small group of people a feature where you can buy and sell bitcoin on their app. This would be huge as a lot of people have the Square Cash app, which would help it distinguish itself from Apple Pay who's going to be competing with them soon. Most importantly for people here, it would offer an alternative to Bitpay where you can send Bitcoin to the Square Cash wallet and sell the Bitcoin and either deposit the funds into your bank account or use the debit card they offer to spend the funds.

It would also bring competition to Coinbase which would be welcome for a lot of people here.

When transfering between blockchain to bitpay. Do I have to chose priority or just use regular. When I send to a book should I use priority or just regular?

I would use regular for blockchain to bitpay. Typically the fluctuation of the bitcoin doesn't matter. Whatever is quoted to you... they will typically load the card.

I would probably go Priority for a sportsbook because... if the Bitcoin hits a downswing... once the books receives it.... they might give you a far lesser value.

It's totally up to you... the user.

I would start studying this chart.... before sending....

    https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/#fees

Looks confusing at first... but you'll get the hang of it.

TheMoneyShot is right; look at the current fees before you send anything. Just pick the lowest range that is surrounded by less than 1000 transactions waiting to be processed. Safest way to get it low and fast.

If using blockchain, just customize the fee. If you look first though, at least you can compare what their fees are before you automatically choose priority because you need it fast.

Here are a few links that may help you out. I don't know if you've already tried this or not? Just trying to help.

I don't know if you underpaid the bitpay invoice? But to try and correct it.... use this link:

    https://support.bitpay.com/hc/en-us/...what-can-I-do-

If you overpaid the bitpay invoce... use this link to try and correct it.
    https://support.bitpay.com/hc/en-us/...what-can-I-do-

If bitpay can't seem to locate a payment from you....
    https://support.bitpay.com/hc/en-us/...tcoin-payment-

I'm sure you already used this... but this is how you send an email to them and any other additional information

I know this is very frustrating. I would just try to relax my brain. lol and just forget about the days lost.... try to pick the best link that suits your situation.... and then make sure you give them all the info requested in that link. Maybe they want things done in steps? And possibly you left something out in a previous email that was critical.... and they just disregarded your email totally?

Most of those links claim 24-48 hours for a response time. So, hopefully this time... you'll get some positive results.

    @TheMoneyShot

just sat down to look over your suggestions, and unbelievably CS FINALLY sent me an email explaining it was late ect ect, but wasn't too sure they were talking about 2 tranactions i screwed up on or just the 1 but taking this 1 step at a time...lol

they ask for a valid address to send a refund to (didn't say when or amount of course) and i just generated a btc address from my blockchain wallet....i wasn't sure about the amount they are sending so i just made up a $ amount i thought was close IF they sent both

but i don't (hope) think it matters if its exactly correct for receiving btc to my blockchain wallet like it is the card

ill keep u updated on if/when i receive 1 or both of my 2 transfers refunded

would like to especially thank you and optional via email for always being there to help as BLOODY FRUSTRATED as i have been LOL

of course i couldn't ask because its email only with their CS but my qustion would have been.....

why not just load my card with those 2 transaction? they obviously saw that i sent 1 or both by the sound of the email....just seems easier o just put it on my card instead of asking me for a refund address...not that i am complaining just did not know what the diff is.....honestly now id rather have it in my blockchain wallet anyways

i sent optional a copy of email they sent in case I misunderstood anything

and @optional thinks it maybe because its been almost 3 weeks and 2 weeks on the 2 transactions i havent recieved that they were just refunding the btc i sent then.....

which could work out in my favor actually since they are worth alot more now than they were than i think....and 2nd payout was a big 1 dimes sent that 36 hrs late....the 1st was just a few hundo test run because i had only dome btc anything with BOL

so the price fluxuation over past 2-3 weeks in the Bull territory, instead of just reloading my card maybe why they said it has expired and would refund to address i gave them

BUT they were only talking about 1 of my 2 transactions that have been missing, and cant figure out which 1 they are refunding and which 1 they dont even know about but hopefully it all gets worked out today.....

ill keep u updated, main thing is i finally got a reply....9 back and forth emails this morning alone....its hard for me to explain some things and i can tell they are kinda frustrated but hell i said buddy im a newbie at this..lol.....but i did receive several payouts this week no problem from dimes to wallet to card so this shit wont happen again at least

    **UPDATE*****

after about 15 emails back and forth from an actual real CS rep. and explaining the 2 different mistakes i made on my 2 transactions thats now around 3 weeks ago., took several hrs later and then got an email and they ask where i anted the 2 refunds sent 2....so i have them blockchain wallet of course and 5 minutes later all the btc i had sent and never got credit for on the card they sent that back to my wallet....so finally its all over!!!!!

not sure why they didn't credit the card cash, but doesn't matter i can now....and here is the biggest kicker, i made almost $500 extra in the weeks ive been waiting since the price increase!!!! they send same amount of coin to my blockchain wallet that's obviously worth alot more now than it was weeks ago....I could not believe that when I saw how much was added from my original request!!!

    wooohooo....

I see last post is from 11/22. Is the Bitpay card still working well for withdrawals? Is this still the best way to cash out bitcoins?

Bitpay is fine. But if you read this thread you can see their CS is lacking.

I cash out with GDAX. Sell the BTC there, sell with a limit order is free. Then transfer to your checking account, also free.

I send some to my Bitpay card and just spend it. Haven't tried pulling cash out with Bitpay. I'm sure there will be fees doing that.

Thanks for your insight. Any problems going into checking account? I can't imagine problems with Btc being pretty mainstream now

Back in the old days, like a year ago LOL, I was kicked out of BkofAma because of BTC. But I had a gew big wires from Slovania, they not at all impressed.

But GDAX is US based. So no, you will have zero problems with them. I've sent tons and tons of btc of transfers to banks using GDAX to checking accts with no problems.

I believe it's in this thread somewhere... another poster made a post about how he funds the Bitpay card then.... takes the card to Walmart and buys MO's with it at the Money Center. It's just another way of using the Bitpay card. Every 1000 in MO's is only $0.70 at Walmart. Just food for thought.

But yeah... using the Bitpay card is extremely beneficial.
