LAFC made it 23 this year and Cinci makes it 24 next year.

Inter Miami and 2 others will make it 27 in 2020

Way too many teams for a league that is already too weak to feed a top line national team.

Have you seen the crowds Atlanta get? They sell out 50k+ seats every home game in their second season.

Hard to say Americans don't like soccer.

Many leagues in the world would love to average the 15k a match the worst US teams draw.

I am not sure. I don't get to watch Eng Chmp or Poland matches really.

I know the MLS matches I watch are really obviously a higher standard than A-League.

20 teams like just about every other major league is already stretching talent thin in USA I think.

These new teams, and the ALS should build a 2nd division and get a promotion relegation system started and work on improving the standard to European level rather than extracting the most bucks whilst it's getting popular (like NASACR did).

i love how mls gets all the washed up european stars for the last swan song , any really good young american player is going to europe beacuse the pay is better mls is really only paying a few players big money and the others are making 6 figures

Exact same in A-League. Euro teams snap up the best young guys and we get their legends who don't want to retire yet.

Does Cincy have a coach or players on roster?

do they have a schedule and tix for sale

if so, they are a team. even if they didn't compete in the last season.

once the season ends with 23 and free agency ect begins, you now have 24 teams correct?

What happened last week is that each of the other 23 teams was forced to sell one of their players to Cincinnati to field their first roster.

Problem with that (same as in the A League) is the sides are franchises, USL has got a heap of reserve teams also but guess it'd be like Spain where they can't play in the first division.

It'd be the less funded sides sitting in the relegation zone and doubt they'd bother with getting relegated probably just fold. Guess there would be some set up like the EPL parachute payments to keep teams from going bust, but you really need passionate owners and fans.
