My thoughts on the VALUE of being an SBR Pro, After 8 months

Thought i'd give a quick run down of my thoughts on being sbr pro, and if there is value to be had for any guys/gals contemplating weather or not to go pro.

    1. $100 donated to charity is just a good thing to do, and if you believe in good karma, then it's a +1

    2. Sick value to be had with all the contest/poker/trivia ect.

    3. For my $100 investment to help support a charity and this community, i've in turn over 8 months, been rewarded with over $300 cash money (bitcoin in the sbr store). If I could pick a winner on my big bets, could easily see someone bringing in $500-1k+ over a year from betpoints alone from trivia.

    4. Beat the Prick is huge value with over 50k cash money up for grabs and weekly betpoints to be had (turned this weeks prize from BTP and 1 trivia prize into $50usd in bitcoin)

    5. You help to keep SBR running, which at the end of the day is nice to have an industry leader in your corner when and if a problem ever occurs with a sportbook.

    6. If you like poker, then lot's of value can be had playing in the daily tourneys on the sbr poker client ( turn points into cash, sportbook cash, pizza giftcards ect)

So to recap, I put in $100 to a good cause and have gotten $300+ back out in just 8 months. So any way you slice it, I made +$200 so far, not doing a whole fuking lot tbh.

Yes especially if ur posting here daily or even just logging in. Makes zero sense not to be a Pro. Its impossible not to make a little money here while having fun and sometimes hit a good chunk on cash contests.

Never made sense to me why you wouldn't, it can't be the $100, you can recoup that by logging in every day alone.

agreed 100%. I sometimes take a break from daily posting and lurk while reading posts, but always make sure to login collect my points, and read the latest post to stay up to date. ton of good people and info on SBR.

Yep , not very difficult to see .
If you can win at gambling , easily worth it . I made 600+ in BTP 2 years ago , expect to again this year , so the $300 so far is being paid for by SBR in the end .
But I give simply like to give to charity , some people are less fortunate in life , if you can't give , it's understandable but thankfully I've been fortunate in life and can . I will continue to as well , nothing like helping others in a time of need .
I won't use the "Pro" pushing someone , simply means they can't win long term , thus they can't see their benefit but if you're good at gambling , there's no better deal out there .
I didn't realize the additional things you can buy in the SBR store like Bitcoin , etc haha
I've given away 1000's of points additionally to charities , Big Day which I hope he's doing well but it's still worth it at the end of the day .

Yeah, I think for American's, once SBR added the bitcoin option into the sbr store, it went from 95%, all the way up to 100% no brainer if you can afford the $100 up front to give to charity. Like was stated above, simply login every day and you will recoup every bit of that 100 and more. then everything else i listed in the original post is icing on the cake.

You have to be extremely broke not to be a pro on this site. On the side, I will say that this site actually saved me, in a way. I lost thousands of dollars when I was young, and almost lost my family because of my problem. This site saved me from using my own money (because of bitcoin and gift cards), and still allows me to get my fill in something I really enjoy doing. My wife is totally on board as long as I use my points from here and not my personal income, like I used to. You guys don't know how much I appreciate you.

Yeah just logging in daily as a pro is like 4400 ish points or so (contributing as well). Been some price hikes and major cuts in poker so hopefully that trend doesn't continue. With the leglaizing of gambling continuing to grow and it's "acceptance", sbr should be growing revenue not squeezing it.

It's kind of a no brainer and if you play poker hugh +ev. I spend 100 on dumb shit all the time so a charity donation to be PRO is an easy choice. Plus the rooster size.

Looking for a mod to agree or disagree
    with these next statements.

As a Canadian no donations are accepted
as a means of becoming an SBR pro.

    Is this true or false?

As a one time pro if I accumulate 3k
points can I get back in using them?

If the above are both not available.

then is there any other way of becoming
a pro other then joining one of the sponsored
    books?

Worth is always subjective. I wish I had not gone pro once again. But for me there is no worth. Poker prizes are basically nothing now unless you make it to the big event something I have not once done in my sbr career. BTP is one of many generous contests SBR does and like Trivia surely can make being pro worth it. But again you have to win those to get value. I suck at trivia and each year I might btp 3 weeks out of 17.

All in All out of my nearly 10 years at SBR I have cashed out my $100 probably twice. But before I didn't care because Poker was fun and people actually played it because it was worth it. Drew killed the value of poker and now it's dying. The final nail in the coffin was taking away Omaha on weekends and increasing the SBR Trap hands in NLH To make sure most don't ROll over.

I would go pro if I could remain anonymous. Not interested in pro status if it requires providing personal information other than an email address to SBR.

Has nothing to do with the $100 cost.

Lots of guys here subsidizing their unemployment/disability checks with betpoints. These guys never miss a poker tourney, contest, etc.
