Too bad, but not surprising, SBR's policy on this has always been quite clear. Really is infuriating when someone can outright steal from others and get away with it. I mean those people who take a loan and then blow all their points on a bet or in the casino and then vanish - obviously I don't excuse that, but they can at least say that they had no ability to pay their loan back when they might have really wanted to.

Someone like this though who owes people and has the ability to pay them back (at least in part) but instead takes his points to the store and profits off the site while stiffing honest contributors to the site - hard to be more scummy than that...

I think that's too harsh - SBR has made their stance that they will not get involved in posters' stiffing other posters quite clear so that everyone enters into such contests/agreements at their own risk. Not really fair imo to claim they are being scummy when they are following the exact policy they have laid out ahead of time.

That said, you and many others (myself too) really are not in favor of that policy and naturally wish they would take a more proactive role in dealing with scumbags like astro. And if you are correct that having that policy is causing them to lose more pro members than they are gaining, that may well constitute a bad business decision by them. That said, it is their call to make at the end of the day - their site, their rules, and the consequences of their decisions, whether good or bad, are theirs to deal with at the end of the day.
