Jeez Louise these lines are tough for me. My heart wants to go Serena and Nadal but I don’t think she’s ready yet 100% which is obviously totally ok and I feel like Rafa is too obvious. Yuck.

no way would i trust an aussie on clay i fear nadal will have no real challenge on the mens side but the womens side looks wide open, halep is a known choker no way can back her at those odds serena is rusty the womens side has all the value that's what i'm focusing on this year

I almost made contest threads yesterday but they haven't even released the draw date yet so I have to wait a bit.

As far as the odds go, I'd still go with Rafa with Djoko and Wawa as distant seconds.

just looked it up they don't give you alot of notice before the tournament starts says the draw will be done after qualifiers and won't know the full draw until 3 days before the tournament

    FINAL SCHEDULE OF PLAY ANNOUNCEMENT:

The schedule of play for each day will be released a day before every days play and we will know the draw 3 days ahead of the start of competition. Once the draw is released we will place the first round schedule right here in bracket formation where we will update the schedule after everydays play.

Betting on Rafa with those odds is risky simply because of the chance of injury during the tournament. If Nadal stays healthy, he wins the French easily. Thing is, his body has been breaking down for a while and as you guys know, he's coming off an injury that made him retire in the Aussie Open. The French will be his first 5-set tournament since coming back from his hip injury. He's also been dealing with a major knee injury for a while. It only takes one bad lunge or bad movement for Nadal to injure himself badly again.

For those of you watching WTA, does Serena have a chance of doing some damage? Is it a complete guess-work at this point? Any value because of poor recent form?

As someone who is an unashamed Serena fan and I love her social media stuff, etc, I'd say wait until the second round if she makes it. If she does, then sprinkle a bit on her winning. She's a tough b but she's also happy with her husband and baby and that isn't conducive for any athlete to perform well.
