EDT means Eastern Daylight Time, so whenever we're in DST.
It's always been a pet peeve of mine when people say EST rather than simply saying ET.

just to continue, EST stands for Eastern Standard Time
Standard means GMT -5 hours (non-daylight savings).
Same thing for PST. So during Daylight Savings months, they're actually EDT and PDT.
Same thing for any timezone which has daylight savings in effect.
