Griffey leaves game with stiffness in knee

CHICAGO -- Cincinnati center fielder Ken Griffey Jr. left Wednesday's game against the Chicago Cubs in the fourth inning because of stiffness in the back of his right knee.

Griffey said the injury isn't serious, but he doesn't know if he will be able to play Thursday in the series finale at Wrigley Field.

"We're going to come in and see tomorrow," he said.

Griffey said he initially got the injury while shagging fly balls before the game.

"It didn't really bother me. It just tightened up a little bit. That was it," Griffey said after the Reds' 4-1 loss to the Cubs.

"It was just one of those things. I was chasing fly balls in the outfield."

Griffey walked in the first inning and struck out in the fourth against Greg Maddux. Griffey was replaced in center by Ryan Freel in the bottom of the fourth.

Griffey's previous six seasons with the Reds have been marred by injuries. He hit his 538th career homer in Tuesday's game.

Maybe if he concentrated more on the game rather than his dick, he wouldn't be injured as much.

Griffey, baseballs answer to Grant Hill.

Those guys should not be paid and if I was running things, they wouldn't be.

I would rather have an honest Griffey on my team rather than a cheating Bonds anyday.
