Orioles +108
Pros: After being swept at home by the Yanks, the Orioles will be looking to win big today against the White Sox. Chris Waters is not a very good pitcher. However, he is opposing a worse pitcher who is a southpaw. The Orioles dominant mediocre southpaws and should certainly do that here. Also, the White Sox struggle against southpaws. They also struggle on the road.
Cons: The White Sox have a better pen.
Royals -126
Pros: Gil Meche is Kansas City's best pitcher. He is 4-0 with a 2.17 ERA in seven starts since the All Star break. He will be opposing a poor road pitcher in Scott Feldman. Take the better pitcher and the better bullpen.
Add Cleveland to that list regardless of how well G-raga's pitched agaisnt them this season.
Detroit by no means deserves to EVER be laying this type of chalk for the remainder of the season. They've underachieved mightily, and you're not getting their best effort on a nightly basis whereas Cleveland's played some very solid ball since the break and enters tonight's game winners of 7 in a row.
You are right, this si a value thread. However, I don't see much value in a struggling southpaw on the road versus a very high powered offense. You do make a good point about the Tigers not playing their hardest. However, there are some guys who are still trying on the team and they will not lose every game for the rest of the season.
say what you want about a Quad A player, but Cruz's stats the past 3 years are undeniable. Rangers announcers are saying he will play right field everyday. If you have a fantasy league, run, don't walk to the WW to pick him up.
nelson cruz has never done anything, ANYTHING, to merit being picked up in a fantasy league, he hits 220, he gets a homer once every 10 games, he doesnt drive in runs
he has never done a single thing in any time he has ever been called up
i wish he were good but he has never done a single thing, ever
Have you ever even looked at his minor league stats? You are basing his "done anything" on about 400 AB's. That's nothing. Look, I am not saying that he will be your savior, but in 12 team leagues with 5 OFs he is definitely worth a look.
I guess you wouldn't pick up Ryan Braun either last year because he has done NOTHING!
ryan braun was not ever remoltely comparable to nelson cruz, you are smoking shit dude
i am from dallas, thats my team
the guy has never done anyithnng, ever
he is not CLOSE to braun
not close in any way shape or form
he is a AAAA player
there are tons of them, let me know when he does anything at all
again braun hit from day one in the majors, cruz has never done shit
dude, the a;s are 20 games below 500 since the break
20 games below 500 in a 35 game stretch
they do not hit, they have not hit all year long, they have an awful starter and vlad is not that much better vs lefties than juan rivera at this point. its really not a big deal resting him, he aint the same player
i hope you win but the a's do not hit, there is no reason to EVER bet them
