Derrek Lee, the reigning NL batting champion and the Chicago Cubs have reached a new deal - a 5-year contract worth an estimated $65 million. Sources say that Lee's new deal calls for an annual salary of $13 million from 2006 to 2010 and will contain a no-trade clause. Personally, I think its great that the Cubbies finally got Lee locked-up long term. Not only was he tops in the NL in average (.335), hits (199) and doubles (50) last season, but he also had 46 homers, 107 RBIs and was a Gold Glove first baseman. Now THAT'S the kind of guy you want to make sure you keep around, right?
