Will you be betting on spring training games?

I know I will. The first ones are this Friday right? Can't wait.

Yes, though it'll be mostly a waste of money. Small unit size for sure.

I always say I won't bet them, but I always seem to cave in. GL

If you wait for the lineups to see who playing/pitching each day you can get some decent value on young arms.

Usually pitching teams win a lot.

I always do. I just can't resist the excitement of baseball being back. It is always a -even venture but I make up for it during the season.

Is it really going to be spring? The weather is so crazy this year most of it is going to be played in winter like weather.

Where do you get the info on starting pitchers and hitters on spring training? I know twitter, rotoworld and ESPN are usually pretty accurate during regular season but not sure about spring training.

Never wagered on a spring training game in my life and see no reason to start doing so now.

if you are willing to do the work there is quite an edge to be gained in Spring Training games. Just about every major paper now sends a columnist to spring training who will tweet and blog about who will be playing, what the pitchers are going to be, who is making the trip to a road game, etc. Many times this info is real time, late breaking and very close to game time. This is actually the one time during the season where the average Joe has a chance to have more info than those setting the lines

Do Spring Training standings matter? Yes and no. Last year, the Rays (20-8, .750 winning percentage) had the best record in the Grapefruit League, then held the best record in all of baseball until being passed by the Phillies during the regular season's final week. The Giants (23-12, .657) had the best record in the Cactus League, perhaps developing a winning culture -- but the Indians actually had a higher winning percentage (19-9, .732) and were non-contenders. The Rangers (10-19, .362) had the worst Cactus League record last year and won their first American League pennant

i think pretty much coincidence... so much needs to happen to put together a winning season, I wouldn't buy the spring training standings... however maybe early on you can get something out of fading or riding one team coming out

Spring training is the best to bet on hands down. The edge you get on some of these lines is enormous.

Lot you can build on from the spring games, but IMO its best to hold off till the bell rings.

For Spring Training you have to get the daily team notes from each team's individual website. Those will tell you who who is slated to pitch that day. For lineups you just have to wait until about an hour before 1st pitch and check MLB.com.
