    Vernon Wells Traded to Anaheim Angels

    Blue jays just traded V dub to the angels in a package that includes mike napoli....Jays made another step forward, angels are getting a good player and leader, hope they dont mind the 20 million salary though.

    Vernon Wells Traded.

    The Angels, largely dormant for much of the offseason, are on the verge of landing Blue Jays center fielder Vernon Wells in a blockbuster trade, according to major-league sources.

    The Jays will acquire catcher Mike Napoli in the deal, sources said.

    Being a Jays fan this is a great trade for the Jays finally getting rid of Wells and his $23 million salary he's one of the most overrated players in baseball.

    Toronto always trades thier good players, Wonder why they cant compete........... why have a team if you dont want to sign players to Nice contracts. I understand attendance isnt that good north of the border, If its that bad relocate!

    What?? This trade was about two teams dumping contracts they didn't want. Wells is owed $86 million over the next 4 years. If he was a free agent right now, nobody would give him that.

    Wells would always perform during 'garbage time' to boost his stats. He certainly wore out his welcome in Toronto and with the new owner taking over (ROGERS), they probably told senior mgmt to take action. Not surprising he was here in TO last week watching Raptor game. The deal was probably done then...

    Lucky Vernon, he has the bulk of his contract coming in the next 4 years and now gets to leave Toronto and the AL East for sunny LA and the AL West.

    very curious to see how much money Toronto has to give up. Were the Angels that desperate after losing out on Carl Crawford (7yr/$142m) that they'd take on the rest of Wells 4yr/$86m
