TB @ FLA : Thinking after such a high scoring series it might be best to throw stats out the window and expect a getaway day game in FLA to be flat . Hendrickson is best on extended rest but his day splits ...OUCH ..only 3 starts though but last year much of the same and home splits not so good. Same for Garza's road woes sort of might be wise to overlook. He has been healthy in may and june. His 1st 2road starts were real solid @ balt and Tor then fell apart last @ STL , @ Boston and @ texas the latter two I can understand but that bad at STL? Garza also on extended rest has been better but opposite of everything in 2007. So he is sort of undefinded doing well iday and away games last year as well and really .250BAA in day games is fine and he keeps LHB in check. So primary LEAN UNDER . They set it same as Sonnastine and Olsen after 2 overs kind curious to me but also did go under at TB 4-1 with a 9.5 number . If they put out 9.5 as the opener I would expect an over not with 9.
STL@ DET : If Wellenmeyer was healthy he could be a guy to give DET some troubles . He doesnt appear to be. A guy like him having best year ever probably wants to fool himself into believing he is okay . His last start 13 days ago was the 20-2 game where he was shelled. Robertson some tough day splits in his career as well. Det started 0-10 in the day has won 12 of 19 now . After a long night I would guess these teams are tired . Lookahead for STL going to KC afterwards both teams could rest alot of players but Pujols I think may return here . Which would actually cause me to fade STL. The pens are fairly fresh IMO . Another game I think is tough prefer DET since I expected STL to lose this series and the fact Pujols may return . Might even take an UNDER if the lineups look thin enough and we see 10runs. Every game on this trip has been tough for STL despite winning 3 of 5 (well game 2 in Boston) .
Balt @ Cubbies- Not crazy about this but Marquis has been pitching well and has great day splits a 7-1 record and 3ERA. Cubs are what 33-9 at home , 25-11 in day , while O's are 7-18 in the day . O's also 5-16 in game 3s and worse 1-10 after a LOSS. Liz was terrible @ Milw after two decent away starts plus Albers spot start thins the pen.
Wsox @ LAD - Two teams struggling vs LHSP. LAD a pretty bad day lineup as well. Really LAD has been terrible lately vs LHP and Kershaw is still young . Hard to not liek an under . WSox 15-4 under so far as small road dogs below 125 and 53-23 since 06. LAD 17-9 under in day games but 6-1 over on Thursday. Danks has been real solid on the road and in the day he worse quality is lasting mostly 6 innings . His IL starts 18inn 4 runs in 3 . Did well @ Wrigley facing a lineup smoking LHP and now gets one struggling badly see Sabathia , Lee and Buerle this week. Kershaw is a unknown but a talenet one at that . We saw Wsox struggle vs Stultz and they have all year vs LHP especially away now minus Konerko and Crede ....hard to pass the under up and would play WSOX as LAD just not hitting enough and 3-8 in IL as well. Oh and WSox 15-6 in game 3s.
What you think about STL and Det, do you think the long rain delay is going to effect offensive stats or is the pitching and defense going to be sloppy. I'm leaning on a couple of guys sitting out of the line-up which will effect offensive stats and therefore take the under but I'm not quite sure yet. I could possibly see Wellenmeyer getting rocked after not starting in awhile. what you guys think?
