Phillies +106
Pros: The Phillies have one of the best offenses in the majors. The A's have a poor offense. Blanton is 1-7 with a 3.98 ERA at home. Jamie Moyer is 4-1 with a 2.76 ERA on the road. Blanton has lost four straight starts, posting a 7.94 ERA. Moyer is 1-1 with a 1.96 ERA in his last three starts. Blanton is Oakland's least effective starter.

Cons: The Phillies have struggled of late offensively.

Marlins -111
Pros: The Rays are sometimes prone to slumps at the plate, and they've had a tough time on the road in recent weeks. Tampa Bay has lost seven of its last 10 away from Tropicana Field, scoring two runs or less five times in that span while batting .246. The Marlins will counter with Scott Olsen (4-4, 3.51), who is 1-1 with a 0.77 ERA in two starts against the Rays. He is 3-3 with a 2.93 ERA in nine interleague starts. Olsen is 3-3 with a 2.89 ERA at home.

Cons: The Rays seem to give Sonnanstine run support.

Yanks-Pirates Over 9.5 -105
Pros: In this matchup, Gorzelanny is facing the offensive power we have come to know as the yankees. When he was good last season, the yanks tagged him for 4 runs in 6 innings. Now, in his worse form, he is facing the same potent offense. Darrell Rasner, on the other hand, has struggled on the road. He gave up 6 runs over 3.2 innings versus the awful offense of the A's. He also gave up 4 runs over 5.1 innings to the Twins. Expect a very high scoring game.

Cons: Gorzelanny has been better at home.

Tampa/Florida

- Tampa very middle of the pack VL, most of their players seeing Olson for the first time, at home where he is historically better and has been great this year.
- Those that do have ABs vs Olsen have not been great. 3 singles in 20 ABs(though 8 of those ABs are Floyd's).Olson 8 hits/6BB/11K in 11.2 IP vs TB lifetime, with 0.77 ERA.
- FLA has the 2nd best OPS vR and has seen and had success against Sonnanstine. FLA bats, assuming Amazega is out, have hit him to the tune of .321 with 7 of 9 hits being for extra bases...adding up to an OPS over 1.000 in 28 ABs.
-TB road win % is 44%, FLA at home 59%
- FLA last 7 batting .268/.815 OPS/ 5 RPG, TB .263/.781/4.17 (though it should be noted FLA with DH while TB not)

It is worth noting that the teams that have hit Olsen really hard are solid VL, which Tampa is not. Tampa ranks 20th in OPS and 22nd in BA vL.

Seattle raked him for 11 hits in 4.2 IP. Seattle ranks 5th vL in batting average.
The Mets and Dodgers each got to him for 4 ER in 5 IP. 7th and 6th in BA vL.
SF, 5ER in 3.1 IP...SF has the 16th ranked BA VL, but the 10th OPS vL.

Those are the major hiccups on his record this year, 2 were road games and 2 home.

The Rays don't hit lefties well. Seattle hits lefties well. So that is probably a reason for the disparity.

No the Rays have hit lefties very well lately since Pena has gone out the lineup...Pena was horrible vs Lefties but Aybar has lifted them a little vs lefties also TB will be missing Bartlett tonight his wifes haveing a baby and I think hes .300 this year vs lefties.....I think Flor will set Gonzalez tonight and Willingham is back in the lineup another plus with willingham but Louis hits lefties well and does well at home so no real edge there...Amazega being out isnt good for Florida supporters as well
