It was just a 1-2 day on Tuesday for both me and the Bullpen System. The system is now 59-57, +5.26 YTD. It looks like 4 BPS plays for Wednesday, and like yeterday they are all dogs! I have 2 of them in my plays:
Where do you get your closing numbers? (I think you said you can get them on covers.) I was refreshing pinnacle and Tampa Bay closed at -130 last night. Making BPS 1-3.
Cleveland was down 6-5 with runners on first and second and no outs in the bottom of the ninth. I was surpised to see them give up and out and advance the runners with a bunt, esp in the AL. Horrible call IMHO.
i was more suprised that francisco swung at the first pitch
i felt it was the right call for cleveland. they had their number 3 and 4 hitters coming up. they wanted one run and would take their shot in extras if need be.
i am happy it worked out but i was sure cleve would score
With only 3 outs to burn, I just have a tough time giving one up there, knowing that you only have 2 outs to play with.
I would have taken 3 shots with the meat of my lineup to tie the game, knowing that if someone hit a gap I'd have a shot at plating the winning run also.
Hindsight is 20/20 though. I was not on this game but saw it was a front page play for LT.
CHW pen turned in 3 very solid scoreless innings of work and CLEV's pen was awful again.
Jays/A's series has nothing to do with BPS since both teams are in top 10 pen ERA. I just think Harden is one of the best pitchers in baseball when he actually makes it to the mound, and Halladay has been a tad off lately with just one Quality Start in last three, and that coming vs. weak KC offense.
Thanks, LT! Somehow I had it in my mind that -130 was still a play! After reading your post and re-reading your article I have been enlightened! Good luck with OAK. I will be on it with you.
