=== Diamondbacks send Byrnes to DL ===
Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - The Arizona Diamondbacks placed outfielder
Eric Byrnes on the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday with a strained right
hamstring.
After hitting .286 with 21 home runs, 83 runs batted in and 50 stolen bases
for the National League West champion D-Backs in 2007, Byrnes has struggled
this season, hitting just .216 with six homers, 23 RBI and just four steals
this season.
A career .264 hitter in nine seasons with Oakland, Colorado, Baltimore and
Arizona, Byrnes had a 14-game hit streak in April before his production
dropped off.
To take Byrnes' place on the 25-man roster, the D-Backs recalled outfielder
Alex Romero from Triple-A Tucson. Romero made the 25-man roster out of Spring
Training and was 3-for-9 with three RBI over 11 games. After being optioned to
Tucson on April 22, Romero hit .331 in 31 games at Triple-A.

San Francisco Giants (20-31) at Arizona Diamondbacks (30-21)
(R) Tim Lincecum (6-1) vs. (R) Dan Haren (5-3)
San Francisco will send their best road pitcher Tim Lincecum (6-1, 2.17) to the hill. The right-hander is perfect on the road this season, 4-0 with a 1.23 ERA in five games, but Arizona counters with right-hander Dan Haren (5-3, 3.39 ERA), who is perfect at home. Haren is 5-0 with a 2.27 ERA in six home starts this season.
Go with the Diamondbacks at Chase Field. Arizona has won four of the five games against San Francisco thus far this season and the last four at home. They have overwhelmed the Giant at home, taking 11 of its last 13.
