Why are the yankees favored in game 6?

Cant understand why the yanks are the favorite in this game. THey have shown nothing and now after avoiding elimination they are favored in Texas in a game where i cant see them winning with hughes on the mound. I think Texas should be -115 here with yanks -105. Anyone care to give there perspective.

To make you ask that very question -- and balance out the # of bets.

If NYY were, say, +110 here, everyone would be on them. The fact that you can get the Rangers at + money at home draws in the public bettors.

That, plus the Rangers have stunk at home in the postseason so far.

I think the over is a huge play.

Yanks will play desperate, Texas will play with a sense of urgency, and let's face it: neither of these pitchers are world beaters.

Not sure I can say "huge play" and "Colby Lewis" in the same sentence. But with Teix out, I don't see how you could possibly back NYY in this spot if you're going to play a side.

No Coin he was 0-14. I'd rather have CC bat there.

Yeah, I guess you're right. He was a ghost at the plate anyway.

They'll miss him at 1st, though.

Wait until game 7. The Yankees will take game 6. That stubborn Lee is the only obstacle the Yankees have right now. The Rangers bats will stay cool meanwhile.

This scares me. The game should be played correctly which means that the umpires should not be rigging the game like they normally do in NY.
    I'm going with Texas.

texas will choke in this game and the network gets their game 7. it's about the choke here not the yankees being better, that is how you look at this game. good luck!

IMO, Texas should be a small favorite for game 6, so there's some value but not a ton.

Lakerboy, I am a huge follower of yours and appreciate all of your insight, but most importantly, have made made cash riding you!!!!! This is my first ever post in this forum....I think the Yanks are closely favored because they want the Yanks Series bettors to bite one more time!!! Regardless of sharp players, a majority of the public will play on the Yanks, and I believe this is a trap, like with Halladay tonight. The Phils were -270 for the Series, yet not a 2-1 favorite in any single game. Very odd. I was a sucker that played them for the series.I think the line inflation was based on the perception that Halladay was going to pitch 3x)... I managed to bet the giants the past 2 nights, and get some of the series bet back. Do you see this as a trap for the public to go all in on Halladay, and San Fran closing the series?? My gut says this series ends tonight.....Your thoughts are appreciated.....

The Yanks are favored cause the Rangers are gonna poop themselves tonight. The pressure is on the Rangers now. See you for game 7

If Yankees keep batting like they've being doing till know and Rangers continue hitting and the most important bring those boys to the plate, Yankees r done! BUT can the Rangers handle the pressure? I think this is the big question! If they can handle they'll win tonight if they don't this may be an epic fail!

so I'll double up on them tonight.

that's it though, no Rangers bet @ NY
Rangers have to finish this tonight

as far as the line it's raw popularity and monied fan base.

got a small play on the O9. Yank heated up last game, Tex should get going at home, and so far all the game has either been Push or went over.

This is no different than most any Yankee line all year, every year. You pay a premium to back the Yankees. Too many "fans" blindly playing the Yanks game in, game out, regardless of the situation. These clubs split the regular season. A couple things that have swung this towards the Rangers for the post season is: The Rangers are healthier than they have been during most of the seson. The Rangers have added substantial talent during the season through shrewd front office work and they have a superior starting pitching. Yankees backers, please think about this: It is only one inning in gm 1 from this series being a Ranger sweep! Can the Yanks win gm 6...sure. The value is with the Rangers in gm 6 though.
