Orioles are 7-4 in game ones this year hitting lefties at a better clip than right handed pitching thus far...then you have the A's opposite not hitting as well vs. lefties as they do against right handed pitching...Two southpaws on the hill this evening I believe works in the O's favor...Olson(1-0) looks to be in good current form allowing the d-rays only two earned runs and four hits had 6 k's...Eveland(3-2)said his elbow was tender thurs, but "thinks" he's fine...Don't expect him to last long after giving up a few early...I'll be playing this one on the first five also...cause you know what a bullpen can do to your $$$$$ ...GL420

11th pick of the draft or not I think its to much to pay for the DBacks even if they are at home. Moyers a great grandfather but is still atleast 50/50 to give the phils a quality start.

Phillies - Rarely should a 1st time starter get this much credit. Both team has the firepower, I just think its the value play to go with the experienced pitcher.

I never thought I would ever say this but Piniero is throwing pretty well right now. Big pitching mismatch here.

Rockies off a home win but shaky this year at home. Cards playing well and have the pitching advantage here.

Moyer should win this pitching duel against the Diamondbacks' meat.

It's all been said already but Piniero is pitching well while Jiminez has struggled so far this year. The STL bats have been productive and the COL hitters aren't giving much run support either...

Phillies have some winning momentum . . . Zona's starter got his promoted from pen after short impressive appearance, but how far can he go and will he be able to keep the ball down into the mid game esp on slider in between fastballs . . . ?
    Just feel value's with Phillies here . . .

Crap. I got that completely wrong, but I'm not allowed to edit it to save face.

I guess I'm just gonna fade Scherzer like everyone else until he can prove he can start.

Mets will try to take advantage of an inconsistent dodger team and continue to perform well on the road.

Going with the more experienced pitcher Moyer against a 1st timer. Philly is not a good time to face as your 1st major league start. Too much power from the left and right hand sides.

Seattle comes into this game with no offense, averaging less than 2 runs per game in their past 5. Texas has been on a roll offensively lately and almost swept the A's. Look for Texas to keep up the offense against a struggling team.

I don't know why everyone is assuming this kid is meat??O.K. he has never started a game but so far he is 13 for 13 retiring major league hitters...No walks 7K's in 4.1 innings of hitless baseball...not bad for a ml debut

Joel Piniero has had a rough time in St. Louis against the Rockies, but I look for his luck to change tonight. Even though this time around it's at Coors Field, it's against a slumping Rockies team, and Jimenez, who has been absolutely rocked so far this season.

TEXAS +115: Millwood was the tough luck loser to seattle earlier in the year when he went 6 innings yielding only 2 run in a 5-2 loss. both runs were unearned. both pithcers have nearly identical records (millwood 7-7, washburn 7-8) vs. the other team, so on that level its a 50/50 play, but i do like millwood's earlier performance where he held both ibanez and ichiro hitless, and these 2 are the only 2 who have any real success vs. millwood of all the guys in the seattle lineup. given the fact that these teams have identical 13-19 records and that millwood already lost to seattle this year you would think that the line would have opened higher in favor of seattle but -120 is almost telling you seattle should lose this one. again, no such thing as fixes these days but don't you think that seattle should be favored by more given that they have already beaten millwood and that they are at home. i've always been a fan of millwod since the atlanta days. he's got a sense of toughness which is necessary to be effective on the road and given all these factors i feel texas is a pretty strong play here. so good luck to everyone : TEXAS +115!!!!!

+135 seems like a good value on a quality team that seems to be coming around. I believe the D'Backs' will backslide a little after their sizzling start. This might be a good time to fade them -- pitching a green starter, against a good team, and laying some chaulk. And, the Phillies are 4-2 (+2.6 Units) at Arizona over the last 3 seasons.

Millwood has a better record and ERA than Washburn, Rangers shouldn't be the dog here coming off a road series win at Oakland.
