Not looking like many read that after the first 5 people.

Yes, they did post very good years before they got to New York. But the first year Randy Johnson was in New York he had a good season. And didn't Kevin Brown get injured when he was in New York. Carl Pavano was never really that good, so he was never going to live up to New Yorker's expectations.

But how many players who have played their entire career for the Yankees have fell to the pressure?

Also, how many players that were great at the time the Yankees acquired them have gone on to fail?

Yes, but a guy having one good season does not make him an ace. Kip Wells had two years where he pitched 200 innings, and had an era around 3.5. And we all know what happened to him. It must have been that tough Pittsburgh media.

toughest division in baseball isnt the al east

nobody thinks wang is top 5 or top 10
    nobody ever will

    era matters more than wins
    so does whip or baa

    wang is good, solid,

but not close to top 5 or 10

they got unit at age 38 right? same with brown
just bc the yanks brass always screws up on FA signings doesnt make wang great. he is very good but saying he is better than he is bc he pitches in nyc doesnt make it so

brown and unit were old and broken when the yanks signed em both

Wang is a front end starter #3 at worst on any team in the majors. Arguably top 15 or 20 but top five no way. Just off the top of my head Peavy, Santana, Halladay, Beckett and Hamels are far better pitchers.

This is a pointless topic at this point in the season.

Most Ace's didnt get the reps they needed in the spring as teams are afraid of injuries. Therefore, how they pitch today is much different than how they play in August.
