Baseball cappers? Can I get thoughts on this, Braves -123 on Sunday

Price seems low for Glavine versus a team that has lost 9 straight.

I think Redding's ERA and it being at Washington is keeping that line low. I personally am still a few weeks away from betting baseball, but I would stay away from this one.

    Good luck IMG.

yeah, stay away is my gut too. I don't trust Glavine. I think Soriano is out for the Braves pen too...Nats might sneak one out...

Glavine's not a big league pitcher anymore.

    Nats or pass.

make that 4 as i have this as Nats or pass as well.
Perfect position for the braves to not show up.
Also, getting killed at home usually motivates the home team next game out.

I don't trust Glavine and the fact the Nats have lost 9 in a row makes me want to stay away even more. They are due for a win.

with that line though, i mean, come on - it's a bargain and this is gambling. obviously i am speaking from a fan perspective from which i'm trying to be objective, because i love the braves... but glavine is born again in a-town. the braves just exploded tonight with runs out the anus... i think you have to ride: the offense shown from tonight's game via francouer and mccann, glavine's impressive starts this season (even though they were both ND's), and the nats 9 losses in a row. streaks should be capitalized on and yeah, when the houston rockets had won their first 3 of 22 games in a row, i'm sure a number of people said "they're due for a loss," but they won 19 more after that. this is the braves, you can watch them of peachtree tv, they have high expectations, and they are playing a joke of team in the nats.

    braves win big.

I could be talked into the Braves, but the fact you have to talk me into it means I'll likely pass. There are better bets on the board.

ok a fan says atlanta big, given that 75% of all games win by 2 or more runs take the runline +130

all this still doesnt hide the fact redding has a lower under %

86 % of the public is on Atlanta, yet the line dropped to -127 from -135 at bookmaker. It tells me they're trying to encourage action to the losing side.

Also check the stats about home teams being swept in a series.

You'll see why the line is so low.

I think the Nats losing 9 in a row makes this a no-play or play on Atlanta...if a team can't buy a win there is no way I would bet them until they pick one up no matter who is pitching or where the game it.

Same with those betting on Detroit over and over to start the year...sometimes getting the first win after a losing streak is the hardest, let them overcome that before doing anything.

When Redding is 'on', he's capable of dominating. With Glavine on the road, you know what you are going to get: an average old pitcher.

I see no sense in betting this game unless you are a Braves fan who wants to put down a few on Glavine "for old time's sake."

I would say Braves have 55-60% chance of winning, but there are better plays available.

you would bet on a team that has lost 9 in a row and on a pitcher who went 3-6 last year, to beat the braves in this situation, and with the braves convincingly taking the first two games? unless you jumped in the delorean and grabbed a sports almanac from 2015, i think, worst-case scenario, someone cuts off your thumbs.

I 100% agree with this. When I cap a game, I start both teams at -110, and then get into the stats. The teams' performace shows me who to bet, not the linesmakers.

Yeah, the Nats were the square side in this game.

Keep betting Glavine as a road fave and see where it takes you.

Redding outperformed Glavine across the board last season. But since he had a 3-6 record playing for the most anemic offense in the NL, while Glavine notched 13 Ws thanks to great run support on one of the better teams in the NL, I'm sure people like yourself will never see it.

You don't think the Nats' 9-game skid was factored in to this line being what it was? I'm sure the linemakers were unaware of Washington's recent struggles.

There's absolutely no correlation between yesterday's game and this afternoon's. The Braves' dominance the first two games of the series couldn't have had less relevance on today's outcome.
