Coming off a bad day....

Putting out my first 3 unit play of the season. There won't be many of these.

Phillies +134 (2 units) (Moyer/Perez)
Yankees/Royas UNDER 9 -112 (3 units)
Rays +105 (1 unit) (Action)

Good luck bud, scaring me with that Phillies play though. At first look, I loved the value, and was going to take them. Then I was going back and noticed the Mets are 5-1 in home openers, and play generally much better against the Phillies in the begining of the year, compared to later in the year. Also felt the Phils pen was a little suspect. If you don't mind me asking, what was your thinking that made you pull the trigger? I wound up taking the Mets -1.5 btw.

As crazy as this may sound, I would be more hesitant to take the Phillies if they were a +155 underdog. I think the books are begging people to take the Mets today, in their home opener, with the much better starter, coming of an off day against a left handed hitting heavy Phillies team that hasnt been off in a while. The fact that they are only a +130-135 dog right now tells me that the books do not want Philly action. Additionally the Phillies will be up for this game. This has become a big time rivalry with Rollins mouthing off last year and Beltran mouthing off before this season. I also have a thing that I usually play the decent sized dog anytime I can against Oliver Perez. This is one of those situations. Finally, theres the Burrell factor. He still owns the Mets.

I can answer this. Brian Bannister at home is lights-out. It was absurd that Yanks were chalk. Royals BP has best ERA in the majors right now.

A few factors played into it.

1. Bannister is undervalued.
2. Hughes was coming off a sharp outing and I thought he would do well vs KC.
3. Joba was able to go 2 innings.
4. KC has a strong 8th and 9th inning guys.
5. Cold weather.

Obviously the SP wasnt that good. But the pens were strong and the bats were off.
