BLOG entry Mets at Braves September 2nd

Braves ML September 2nd over Mets

Braves are 78-5 in the 2010 season. Bobby Cox and company have had an amazing season for his last year in the majors as a manager. They have been playing terrific at home all season with a 49-19 mark. Braves at home with a total of 7 or less are 8-1. As a home favorite of -125 to -150 they are 13-6. -150 to -175 they are 21-7. In games played on a grass field they are 78-56. In night games, 52-38 Braves against a team with a losing record this season they are 35-19.

New York Mets are having a sub par season, A season that has been a disappointment. 3 games below 500 at 65-68. Mets as a road underdog of +125 to +150 they are 3-9. When Mets on the road with a total of 7 or less runs they are 5-9. When playing a team with a winning record in the second half of the season, Mets are 12-22. Mets are 2-5 their last 7 games while Braves are 5-2.

On the mound for the Mets is Johan Santana. Santana has had an ok season for him. He has a little above 3 era but Mets are 5-10 in his starts this season on the road. Mets are 0-3 in Santana’s last 3 starts overall.
On the mound for the Braves will be Tim Hudson. He all season has been plainly fantastic. He is a CY Young candidate. He has a 1.83 era at home, Braves have a 11-3 record at home in his starts. Hudson’s WHIP is 0.997 at home which is great. His overall record is 17-10. Team scores runs and plays for him a little bit better at home. Hudson is 2-1 his last 3 starts. His 1 loss was a 5-4 loss on the road against the hot Rockies. Hudson will get done the job tomorrow and Braves will get the win to close out this series.
Braves are 19-6 the last 3 years against the Mets. At home 5-2 this season at home against the Mets. Braves have a much better bullpen, especially at home then the Mets. Braves at home have a bullpen era of 2.73. Mets on the road have a bullpen ERA of 4.63. BIG DIFFERENCE,
Santana life time against the Braves is 2-6. His team’s record is 3-8. He pitches solid against the Braves but that lately makes no difference. Santana has lost his last 2 in Atlanta.
Hudson is 12-5 life time against the Mets and his team record is 13-5. Hudson has won at least his last 3 against the Mets, and have won fairly easy. 4-1 5-2 4-0
Braves are trying to hold off the Phillies in the National East. It is going to come down to the wire and they need to get any win they can get with Phillies charging and the Phillies experience. Braves have meant business all season and will succeed tomorrow night. Braves see blood when at home against the Mets. I do not seeing them losing and would strongly consider taking the Braves -1. I would even consider -1.5, but -1.5 RL can be real tricky in September, Best of Lusk to all!! Lean under very strongly in this game as well as we have 2 very solid pitchers on the mound.
