    I may be crazy, and backing Halladay at this price is a losing bet heck even at -160 its bad to back him this season, BUT against Marquis I believe its a value bet at least FF on PHI. Some bets is +EV at -400, that doesn't mean I play it.. Over 4 or 4.5 FF is the best value bet in this game imo and that will be my bet...

    How do you not take the nats here based solely on value. I do believe the pirates beat halladay this year and even cashed the RRL. 4-1 odds in a baseball game is just insane

    at -400 you are saying that Philly wins this game 80% of the time. That is just to break even. To make a bet on Philly worth the juice, you have to be pretty sure you will win this game 90% of the time....

    if you can say that they will win 90%, then why mess with the RL unless you are going all in and the $$$ you get back makes you reach a goal. Unless you are getting + $$$ w/RL, you are playing the RL b/c you just aren't sure that they will win and you are trying to limit your losses.

    a -400 bet is never worth it in baseball for just 1 game. For value sake, it is nats or no play. Marquis right now offers no value even at +350. He has yet to show he can get major league hitters out. If he was pitching like he can, then this would be a steal.

    You are right sir. And yes I were just referring to value - if a great player or team manage to lose one game that doesn't mean they stop being great. But for that specific game they would not. So we are both right just two different angles on it.. should have evolved my short answer a bit

    What if bullpen ruins the game?

    Don't lay -400 or -350, Never. We all know Marquis' realistic ERA is somewhere between 4.50-4.90, not 14.33, LoL!
