Vegas is TRYING to play games with us tonight...

...they are trying to bait us into 2 games tonight.

    1) NY Mets +111 @ Houston -121
    2) Tampa Bay +121 @ Oakland -131

First of all, they are giving us an attractive price with the NY Mets against Bud Norris who has been decent lately, but bad over the course of the season. Don't fall for the trap here guys, lay the chalk with the Astros.

Second, yes Oakland has there ace on the hill and Tampa is throwing Sonnantine, but it is clear Vegas wants us taking Tampa by offering an extremely attractive line. Besides one start, Cahill has been virtually untouchable at home, and Tampa is travelling cross county without a travel day. Again, don't fall for the trap, lay the chalk with the A's.

Laying chalk isn't generally my style, but Vegas wants us off the chalk in these two spots.

Mets are on the road with Pat Misch.

Dont think the books got this wrong.

They should be the slight dog.

The movement in the A's game has been incredible over the course of the day. One part of me feels like a sucker for not getting this early in the day at -123, but another part of me feels brilliant that I got this at -131 a few minutes ago, when its already climbed to -135 at my book.

I suppose The A's line looks 'fishy' if you dont actually look at the actual numbers-

Vegas wants you to bet on A's here imo. Since Athletics are favored in this situation.

I feel like I beat Vegas at their own game.....if only for one day!

A year ago or early in the season, I would have taken the Mets and Rays, been 0-2 and stunned.

I have just confirmed my 1st wager for Friday, and it involves a combination of my theme of beating Vegas at their game and beating my shop early before the line gets hammered.

    1) NY Mets -121 @ Pittsburgh +111

I capped ALL the games before looking at the lines, and I had the Mets in this spot at -135. Because the actual line is 14 cents off from my predicted line, it instantly became a play for me. I've been seeing this line around -130 at most books and even as high as -137.
With a combination of the Mets being a yearly public favorite and the Pirates being terrible, I can see this line growing up over -140 at many shops. VEGAS will be begging the public to take the Pirates, offering an extremely attractive price against a team on the road, that has trouble scoring, and having all kinds of off the field issues. If you can get this game at or around -121, I would advise it.

Pelfrey has finally found what made him successful in the first few months (keeping the ball down resulting in groundballs) his last two outings while Karstens gives up a lot hits, over a HR per start and doesnt strike anybody out. A lot of balls in play against a team with speed seems to spell trouble for Karstens tonight.

yea well its tough to get hits for any team against a guy that had 20 consecutive starts with at least 5 IP and 6 or less hits

    Great call last night.
Thinking about joining you on the mets tonight as I do agree Pelfrey may have his mojo back.
Just not sure if the under isn't a better play considering how bad the Mets offense has been?

I just locked in 3 more picks, giving me 4 total on the day. This is very uncommon for me, but looks like I have crushed the lines. Sorry guys, no time for writeups, but I saved a crapload of money monitoring the lines and getting incredible prices. I encourage anyone to take these games if you can get ballpark numbers to what I locked in at.

    1) NY Mets (-121) *Posted Earlier*
    2) Atlanta/Cubs UNDER 10.5 (-105) *half unit, but gives me some afternoon action*
    3) San Diego/Milwaukee UNDER 8 (-110)
    4) Los Angeles Angels (+139)
