Some of you who base their bets on line movement and fading the public are completely out there. Sorry, but in 99% of situations these are not the things you look for in any game, yet I see it as a huge weight in people's equations every day. To each their own I guess.

at what point was SD the right play in this line movement at pinny? makes me laugh that some think that line movement means nothing in baseball. sure its not as big as other sports but the square dont always win.

I'm talking about capping the game. Latos had a career 0.59 WHIP and 0.86 ERA against the Giants, he gave the game to the bullpen when leading the game. Padres have a big record after leading on the 7th inning and they are 54-1 after leading on the 8th.

Pen gave it away and it usually doesn't, Giants were lucky.

Padres had the edge at the starter, bullpen and pretty much matched at the plate.

But that's just my 2 cents, I was on Padres myself and if I played them first five, it would have been a winning bet.

Unfortunately I lost, so I'm just gonna move on to the next one. Good call on the lines if you took Giants, LB.

LOL you have had plenty of breaks this season. Not sure if you were on padres or giants or didnt play this game. It happens plenty of times a day. Go and check the games today and see which lines moved and which didnt.

I stopped using line movement in baseball a while ago and it worked great. Its all bullshit if u ask me in baseball.

In retrospect, this should have been a stay-away game. I was on SD, but something in my bones told me it was the wrong play. I think the Pads were the right side given Latos' domination of this team, SD's domination of SF, and Bumgarner's recent struggles. You can't cap stranding that many runners in scoring position, though. Incredible number. Look at the two-out RISP. That's what makes baseball a difficult game to consistently follow -- because the "right" side isn't always the best side, if you know what I mean.

Bottom line: two pretty evenly-matched teams overall, and the line reflected it. Better games on the board. If this was a mid-evening game, most of us would've probably picked a better one. We got geeked up because there were no early games and this was one of the first on the docket.
