All the shitty teams won yesterday, do you chase?

So almost all of the shitty teams won yesterday...Pirates, Orioles, Astros, Royals, Diamondbacks, Mariners

I'm thinking that 90% of them lose today

Staying away from Houston/Cardinals game even though Carpenter is on the mound, because Houston is 6-2 at St. Louis this season. I still don't think the Cards get swept at home though.

Lets hear some thoughts boys. May put in a small wager against all of the above.

I guess it depends on what you call a chase. I just know that its hard enough for these teams to win one game, let alone two in a row. Seems like there may be some value in playing against them.

I wouldn't be surprised if one or two of these teams win again today. Even bad teams go on small 2-3 game winning streak.

By my count, of the seven teams with the fewest wins going into Tuesday's games, six of them won. There's a reason they're holding up the bottom of the standings and that's because they're not very good in a lot of areas. But even the worse teams win at least one out of three games, on average, so who knows?

So, going by the theory that they win 1 out 3 usually. They have their 1 win for the series = losses today. We'll see

Are you suggesting that the Angels, Nationals, and most likely A's aren't shitty teams?

Compared to the O's the Angels are a good team....therefore they are the play for today...no way the Orioles can win two in a row.

I think Cards win a low scoring game 2-0, 3-1 type of game.

Carpenter at home will shut Houston down today.

Not saying they're good, compared to the whole league, just saying they are good compared to the teams they are playing.

Betting against the Orioles is: 33-73 = 2.21 losses per win

    Reds beat Pittsburgh, one down

So because they won yesterday, that makes them less likely to win today? That doesn't make any sense. Pick games based on the individual matchups, and not inane blanket statement like "If a bunch of bad teams win one day, they will probably all lose the next day"

    Well, in a way, it does . . . I think.

If my math is correct, the Orioles, for example, have had 106 chances so far this year to put together back-to-back wins in any two consecutive games on their schedule. They've done it 12 times. That's a terribly low percentage that you should be able to use to your advantage.

It makes perfect sense. Only someone who is insane would think it is likely that the Cards would get swept at home by the Astros, with the final game deciding the sweep being pitched by CHRIS CARPENTER. How do you NOT bet that? The cards win in this position > 90 % of the time.

Let me tell you a story ... May 13th 2010 the Cards get swept by the Astros, Cards had Mr.Carp on the mound. It was @ home.
So it was insane to bet the Cards in any of the 3 games. A lot did so and lost a lot of money. I bet the Astros all three and made a lot of money thanks to the amazing price.

It's fabulous that you beat the odds and won during that series back in May; those are the stories you never forget. But I think everyone needs to realize the percentages when they put up their hard-earned money. There's only so many times you'll cash those 100-to-1 shots and they're few and far between.

Sorry but what you write doesn't make any sense.
The Astros dominated the Cards for a long time, the Astros swept the Cards before, away from home, this season, every bet on the Cards on the three games, is a dumb bet, and I said it before the first game. Astros a HUGE dog, with amazing stats behind them, coming after a nice winning streak, and people bet the Cards?! They won one, yes, but got crushed twice, which led to a monster pay day for those that bet the Astros three times.

You keep playing teams that lose 57 percent of their games and let me know how that works out.
