    Curt Schilling May Be Finished

The Boston Herald reported that he may need shoulder surgery, which would definitely mean he's out for this upcoming season and would in all likelihood mean his career is over.

Certainly hurts Boston's pitching depth if Schill's indeed lost for the season, but it also opens up a spot in the rotation for Clay Buchholz, who likely would have been regulated to starting the season in AAA, which would have been a complete waste of his immense talents.

Also, the Herald has about as much credibility as The National Enquirer, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if they grossly miscalculated the significance of Schill's shoulder trouble.

I really like this kid Clay Buchholz. I got to watch him pitch when he was with the Greenville Drive (Red Sox single A advanced affiliate here). Hes got a lot of talent. Las year with the Sox, 3-1, 1.59 era and lets not forget the No-No. I really want this guy to be in the Sox' rotation this year.
